A little winter video. This is old content from the last few years, but something had to be done - so we edited it into a little winter cinematic.

Fenris demanded we would mask the logos of the companies on the cars. He did quite a good job with the video editing. Good dog.

If you want real adventure, real snow wheeling and a frozen winter wonderland, come join us :)

Kerlingarfjöll, often nicknamed the Troll Mountains, has long been a place of stories — a volcanic mountain range shaped by fire and time, where trolls were once said to roam these valleys and early travellers crossed the highlands centuries ago.

It remains one of our favourite places in Iceland, and in our view, one of the most spectacular and otherworldly landscapes in the world. Steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools, blue glacier rivers, perennial snow fields, and striking rhyolite mountains come together to create something that feels almost unreal.

At the heart of it, Highland Base offers a rare balance — a luxury mountain retreat set deep in the highlands, where days are spent exploring and evenings return you to warm interiors, comfortable beds, and a restaurant serving thoughtfully prepared, local food.

The surrounding area invites you to experience it in different ways — hiking through geothermal valleys, biking across rugged terrain, or venturing further by buggy or snowmobile depending on the season.

Remote, quiet, and only accessible for part of the year, it’s a side of Iceland that feels both timeless and untouched — and one that stays with you long after you leave.

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The forecast was bad — and it didn’t disappoint. Hurricane-level winds, occasional blizzards, and conditions that made it difficult to even stand outside. We used the supertruck as shelter, stepping out between gusts and retreating again when the weather hit hardest.

Most would have called it a night — but we didn’t. We kept going. Hours of searching, waiting, watching the sky, because giving up early means missing moments like this.

And then it changed. The clouds broke, the wind eased just enough, and Lady Aurora appeared, strong, vibrant, and impossible to look away from.

Captured here with Allison, one of our guests, in a moment that made it all worth it.

This is what we do — we go the extra mile, stay out longer, and do everything we can to give our guests the best possible chance to experience nights like this.

The Arctic fox is Iceland’s only native land mammal.

It has survived here for thousands of years — moving through some of the most remote and untouched parts of the country.

In places like Hornstrandir, encounters are rare, and never guaranteed.

A reminder that some of Iceland’s most memorable experiences can’t be planned — only discovered.

We've been posting way too much about Northern Lights lately.

The season has been absolutely phenomenal, and while there are still a few chances left, we’re definitely starting to see the end of it.

Fenris the White Wolf is already very excited for what comes next. For those who don’t know him yet, Fenris is our Siberian Husky mascot and the self-appointed lead hiking guide of Norse Adventures. His main responsibilities include supervising the team, inspecting trails, greeting guests, and making sure nobody forgets snack breaks.

Because while auroras are great and all… Fenris believes it’s time to stop staring at the sky and start hiking again.

The next season means more trails to explore, more adventures in the Icelandic wilderness, and most importantly (according to Fenris)… significantly more mud to run through.

And honestly, we can’t really argue with that. 🐺🏔️

This is your sign to come to Iceland. 🌌

Out here, under the Arctic sky, it’s not just darkness — it’s a world of legends. The kind of night where you understand why stories of hidden people live in the lava fields… and why the Vikings believed the Northern Lights were the Valkyries, riding across the sky, their armor shimmering and lighting up the night.

With Norse Adventures, it’s more than a Northern Lights tour — it’s an authentic Icelandic night done properly. Our local guides don’t just chase forecasts — they read the weather, track cloud movement in real time, and use our 4x4 vehicles to reach darker, more remote locations far from city lights and crowds.

While we wait, we share stories of trolls, elves, Vikings, and the old Norse gods — warming up with homemade hot chocolate under the winter sky.

And when the aurora appears, we capture it with professional photography — so you go home with memories that last a lifetime.

Would you stay up past midnight to see the Valkyries ride? ✨

There’s something special about Iceland in winter.
The quiet landscapes, the wild ocean air, the feeling that you’re standing at the edge of the world. 🌊🇮🇸

And then, when night falls, the sky can come alive with dancing green light. 🌌✨

Our Northern Lights tour is more than just a trip — it’s a moment you’ll remember forever.
