We could already see Aurora Borealis from the beginning of the trip, though they were very faint! But good things come to those who wait and after some time they became brighter and brighter and even started dancing a little! There was even a moment where the Green Lady was shaped like a heart 💚"

🐋 WHALE OF THE MONTH 🐋

September brought an exciting 29 humpbacks whales to Faxaflói bay, with an average of 3 per day, with some days seeing as many as 8 individuals!

Our reigning whale of the month, Harbour Master, was seen an impressive 10 times, while Neila, Sauron and Tomato Soup were also frequent visitors.

Banana, our resident winter whale of 2025/26, even made 2 appearances this month - could this be a sign that winter is just around the corner? 👀❄️

🐋 HELP US NAME A WHALE 🐋

It’s that time of year again! We’re inviting YOU to help us name some of the newest additions to our whale catalogue. This time, we have 3 humpback whales waiting for their names, and we need your creativity!

Take a look at their flukes in the video and see if you can spot something that inspires you. Maybe it’s their shape, colour, markings, scars.. or perhaps a name just pops into your head!

Leave your suggestions in the comments below - and don’t forget to tell us WHY you chose the name! Making a connection between the name and something distinctive about the whale helps us remember them and makes it even more personal!
