If you only have one day in Reykjavík, this is exactly how I would spend it 👇🏼

🌭Start your day with the Reykjavík Food Walk. It’s a three hour tour where you visit five different local spots, taste authentic Icelandic food, and explore the city with a fun local guide. It’s honestly the best way to get to know Reykjavík, and fun fact, it’s the highest rated experience in the city for a reason.

🚶🏼After all that amazing food, take a couple of hours to slow down and enjoy the city. Walk along Laugavegur, pop into a few local shops, grab a coffee or relax.

🐋Next, head out on a RIB safari. You can choose between a one hour puffin tour or a two hour whale watching and puffin tour. If you’re visiting between late April and mid August, it’s puffin season, so this is something you really don’t want to miss. It’s such a fun and unique way to experience Iceland’s wildlife.

😌After that, go back, freshen up, relax a bit, and then finish your day with a nice dinner in the city. We’ve actually shared our top 10 restaurants on our page, so definitely check that out if you need ideas. We have the most amazing restaurants right in the city center.

The tours mentioned in this video can be found through the link in our bio.

In my opinion, this is the perfect day in Reykjavík ✨

This is a true story🙂

when it’s finally sunny and a little warm in Iceland, some Icelanders actually take a day off work or call in sick because we have to take advantage of this rare opportunity ☀️

Went all the way to the top of Hallgrímskirkja 🤍
and honestly, the view over Reykjavik is worth every church bell jump-scare.

If you’re coming to Reykjavik, this is absolutely something you should consider doing 😍

price to go up to the tower: 1.500kr or $12

The Icelandic bar is THE place to get the famous Icelandic Lamb soup 😍

It’s located downtown Reykjavík:
📍 Ingólfsstræti 1a 101, Reykjavík

This place is one of the stops on our famous Reykjavík Food Walk, where you’ll get to try Iceland’s iconic fermented shark followed by a delicious traditional lamb soup.
It’s a local favorite and an absolute must-try if you’re visiting Iceland and spending time in Reykjavík.

Visiting Iceland in June? 🇮🇸 Here’s why it might be the best idea:

• June is the beginning of summer and one of the best months to visit Iceland.
• Average daytime temperatures are usually around 10–15°C (50–59°F)
• Iceland gets over 20 hours of daylight in June 🌇
• Sunrise is around 3 AM and sunset is close to midnight!
• The midnight sun means more time for sightseeing, road trips, and exploring 😍
• Summer is peak tourism season, but Iceland still doesn’t feel crowded compared to many European destinations
• Iceland receives around 2 million visitors per year total, compared to France’s 91 million visitors annually.
• June is also quieter than July and August while still giving you full summer experience.

If you want to experience Iceland properly in June, your trip needs these 3 things: 🧡

🥐 Great food
A food tour is one of the best ways to experience Icelandic culture and local cuisine. Reykjavík Food Walk is the perfect introduction to the city’s food scene. Do it on day 1 you’ll thank yourself later 🥐

🩵 Hot springs
There’s nothing quite like soaking in a hot spring under the Icelandic summer sky. Some of our favorites are Sky Lagoon, Laugarás Lagoon, and the Blue Lagoon.

🚗 Sightseeing
Iceland’s landscapes genuinely levels up in the summer. Waterfalls are stronger, the landscape is greener, and the long daylight hours makes everything feel magical.

Top summer routes include the Golden Circle, the South Coast, and Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
All highest rated - small group versions of these experiences can be found on our website, link in bio!

What to pack for Iceland in June: 🎒
Bring a small backpack with you:
• Layers, always (I recommend 3 main layers)
• T-shirt, sweater, and a jacket.
• A sleep mask might be a good idea because it might be challenging to fall asleep while it’s bright like day outside.

The weather changes constantly, even in summer ☀️🌧️
