THANKS !!

We would like to thank our foreign golfers that have visited us and played our Icelandic courses now in June.
We had over 30% more foreign players than last year at our courses now in June !!! They have enjoyed playing in Icelandic unique nature even in 24 hours daylight !!
All our courses are of course as usually open to public so if you are in Iceland or planning to travel to Iceland there will always be a course not so far from you as we have over 60 courses around the country .

ARCTIC OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP IN AKUREYRI SINCE 1986

You have an opportunity to participate in an event which features round the clock golf in mid-summer at high latitudes. The Akureyri Golf Club hosts this tournament which is known as The Arctic Open Golf Championship. It is an international event which attracts golfers from various parts of the world. Highest number of international players so far is 120 participants. Players from all four corners of the world have taken part.
It was in 1986 that the first Arctic Open Tournament was held. Players do not have to worry about darkness cramping their style because the sun barely dips below the horizon.
The Royal Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews golfers Handbook confirms that "The most northerly 18 hole golf course is the Akureyri Golf club in Iceland, which is situated 65 49' north of the Equator".
The tournament this year starts June 21st, and there might be some places left if you hurry..

But you should book early for Arctic Open 2026 as then we have 40 years from the first Arctic Open …..

THE GOLF SEASON IN ICELAND HAS STARTED!!

In Iceland we have some strong signs of that summer is finally coming.
Opening of the golf courses is for the golfers the best sign that summer is approaching.

Now in April the first courses are opening and in May we expect almost all of our 63 courses to be open
All our courses in Iceland are open to public!!

And due to our long days in summer we have lot of tee times .. even 24 hours..
So be sure to bring your clubs if you are visiting Iceland and play golf surrounded by Icelandic nature; in the lava,in an old crater, at the glacier, at the hot springs or on the banks of salmon rivers...Not to mention our midnightgolf.

Do not worry if you forget your clubs... of course you can rent...

ALL 62 COURSES IN ICELAND NOW OPEN TO PUBLIC!!
NEXT WEEKS BEST FOR MIDNIGHT GOLF!

Next weeks are best weeks to play midnight golf in Iceland.
Our 62 public courses in Iceland are of course open from early morning to late evening or even later... and if you are so lucky to be staying in Iceland now or planning a trip to Iceland in coming days or weeks , you should not have any problem getting a tee time.
You might also be coming on a Cruise and then you can just take some hours to play as we have many courses close to the ports ..

After rather cold March and beginning of April courses in Iceland are now just starting to open....
First of our courses has already open!!

Westman Islands golf course is now open....

And we expect that most of our other courses will open one by one in May
