10:00 Tour, Tuesday 7th July.

We headed out in beaming sunshine and flat seas, pristine cetacean sighting conditions! We briefly stopped near Akurey to admire the Atlantic puffin colony before heading out into the bay. It didn't take long to spot 2 humpback whales going for some wonderful fluke dives, disappearing under the waves and popping up in rather unexpected places. As these whales were busy feeding beneath the surface, we headed towards some other blows in the distance...As we spent some more time in the area, it became clear there was a trio of humpbacks there, all feeding, changing direction underwater, but staying in the same general area. Satisfied with these sightings, we began heading back, seeing (and occasionally even smelling) some sneaky minkes in the distance, and even some blows of humpbacks. What a successful, lucky tour!

10:00 Tour, 16th May

"Another BEAUTIFUL summer day today! Bright sun, blue skies and perfectly calm seas - a recipe for whale watching success! After making a quick stop at Akurey to see the puffins, we headed out into the blue in search of cetaceans. It didn't take us long before we spotted a lone harbour porpoise. This individual was characteristically shy and we were only able to see it once. However, our other RIB had found a pod of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins, so we headed there and spent some time with the dolphins. They were a little bit elusive, but we managed to see them a few times. We then continued on and found another couple of porpoises, another pod of around 5 white-beaked dolphins and even 3 minke whales! We were able to see one of the minke whales nice and close. The others we saw from a distance, but with the amazing sea conditions we have today, we could still see them clearly. Lastly, we then found a humpback whale! The whale was very calm at the surface and was taking dives of 4-7 minutes so we were able to keep track of it fairly easily. We were treated to many fluke dives and even one close to the boat! An incredible encounter to finish our tour! Over the tour we managed to see all 4 species that we regularly see in Faxaflói - cetacean BINGO!"

14:00 Tour, 13th May

"We had two boats setting off this afternoon, after a windy morning the waves had calmed down a lot. On our way out the two boats saw different species! One boat stopped at a lot of feeding birds and saw a minke whale lunge feeding whilst the other saw a pod of white beaked dolphins! The two boats then came together to see one humpback whale followed by a second. The first wasn´t surfacing too much but the second surfaced much more, it was coming up lots and went for two huge fluke dives. The fluke came so high out of the water! What a tour!"

14:00 Tour, 6th May 2025
"This afternoon, we headed out into Hvalfjörður, where we spotted the whale during the morning - After about half an hour of sailing we heard that a humpback whale was around! It was in no rush, surfacing slowly and giving us plenty of chances to observe it. The whale swam at a gentle pace, following a steady course, which made it easy for us to stay alongside. To make the encounter even more special, the whale surfaced right next to us a couple of times—an incredible moment!"

WOW, WOW, WOW! 🤯

"We headed out into the bay, because we had a feeling we would find something big. Our feeling didn't disappoint us, we found 2 Humpback Whales, which were lunge feeding. Accompanied with lots of birds all around them and also at least 3 Minke Whales around - also feeding on the fish. The time flew as we were in awe, watching these majestic big creatures. Everyone, including the crew, left with a smile on their face."
