At night we would go hunting for the Northern Lights, and we saw them on the last night!! We learned a lot about what to look for and what they are. Amazing!! We saw them come and go for about 30 or 45 minutes, but unfortunately, my camera broke the day before, so I did not get any pictures. These are from a guest.

Loved this day! The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa surrounded by volcanos.

Next we visited Geysir, the original Geyser that they're all named after. Reminded me of some areas in Yellowstone National Park.

The cute Icelandic horses are the only breed in the country, and have been genetically pure there since Viking times. They have special gaits. The rider held a drink as she raced around the track, and it didn't even spill a drop!

We toured the prettiest tomato hothouse that supplies most of Iceland's tomatos. 🍅

That large wall of rock? That's the edge of the North American Tetonic plate that has shifted up above ground! Fascinating how we walked down along the edge of it. The shifting tetonic plates meet under Iceland, and contribute to it's abundance of volcanoes, earthquakes and geothermal elements.

We saw seals in the sea, snow covered volcanoes, basalt formations, and more of beautiful nature on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

Iceland has some beautiful waterfalls!
Hraunfossar (lava falls) flows out of a lava field, and Barnafoss (children's falls) is close by.

Next was Akranes and a local sheep farm. The Icelandic people are welcoming and friendly.
