Did you know- the mountain, what you can see in Reykjavik, is called Esjan mountain. It's 914m (2,999ft) high and you can easily go there- even with a bus! It's a fun and beautiful mountain-hiking, takes almost 2 hours to go up there, but well- it's awesome to say that you climbed some mountain, while you were in Iceland, right?

But before you go there, be sure, that the weather is okey!

Went to today. We can totally recommend to go there. You can get 20% discount there with citypass.

A volcanic eruption began in Eldfell, on the eastern side of Heimaey in the Westman Islands on 23 January 1973. An unusual wake up call for the family who lived in this house that night because the eruption came without any sign of warning. People had to leave there houses and all their belongings and run down to the harbour. We know for sure that the Icelandic houses are built very strong as you can see this house is still standing. The name of Eldfell means Mountain of Fire in Icelandic. The Volcano museum in Heimaey is worth visiting.

If you are in Reykjavik and wondering what this sign means and why it's all over town this is the "I AM A SLUT" sign wich is a commercial for the slt walk that is today, starting at 2pm at church. People are geathering in a walk to take a stand against sexual violence, braking the silence and putting the shame where it belongs.
