The third volcanic eruption since 2021 began on the Reykjanes Peninsula yesterday afternoon, Monday. It is found at Litli-Hrútur, which is between Keilir and Fagradalsfjall.

Suðurnes Police have announced the opening of a walking route to a viewing area at the eruption site.

The area has been opened from Suðurstrandarvegur, but not from other roads or road trails.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office will issue an updated hazard map of the area in an hour or so.

The distance is around 20 km round trip. Would you do it?

Well dear friends and followers, we have been out of the air for quite a while, sorry for that. A lot happened since we last posted and we are going to make it up with you the coming months. Last year we have done an amazing amount of different projects that we are going to highlight the next few month´s. For our Dutch followers, we did the ' 'Herman tegen de Rest' TV production for RTL Television, 'Op zoek naar het geheim van Methusalem' met Eric Scherder for EO television and 'De wereld rond met 80 jarigen' for VTM television in Belgium. Soon more news.

Iceland does not have one Santa Claus – instead there are 13 Yule Lads, who seem to be some kind of half trolls. One might say they are the original bad Santas, as for years they did not much else than play tricks on people and pillage.

Today we celebrate the last day of Christmas here in Iceland. Traditional festivities on this day include bonfires and fireworks. According to folklore, this is a magical day when elfs and trolls mingle with humans and extraordinary things can happen. So, keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. You never know...
