Hestasport - simply more fun.. We offer short riding tours from one hour up to day tours, and we also have long tours taking you into the Icelandic highlands.

If you are looking for a unique Icelandic riding experience or a scenic and well equipped place to stay and enjoy the best of the Skagafjörður region, you have come to the right place! We offer a wide variety of tours to suit anyone, from first-time riders to fanatical horse enthusiasts, with the opportunity to stay in our beautiful cottages, with magnificent views overlooking the vast plains and mountains of the Skagafjörður valley. If you prefer not to ride and just wish to view the area, then you are still welcome in our cottages, of course, and we will assist you to plan a selection of tours to enjoy the vast range of activities that the area has to offer.

Three little reasons to be excited. ❤️🐴

We would like to congratulate the entire team behind Höfðingi frá Íbishóll on presenting him at only four years of age and achieving a score of over 8.0, earning the title of First Prize Stallion. What an incredible achievement – congratulations! 🎉

We couldn’t be happier with our three Höfðingi foals. They all appear to have natural five-gait potential, are curious, confident, and people-oriented. From their very first days, they have shown wonderful minds and a beautiful, high-set neck that we truly admire.

Watching these youngsters grow is a real joy, and we are excited to see what the future holds for them.

Congratulations once again to everyone involved with Höfðingi – and thank you for producing such an outstanding young stallion. 💙🇮🇸.

A little filly has arrived safely into the world 🐴🤎
Healthy, curious, and already happily following her mama around — the start of our foaling season is finally here.

We are still expecting two more foals by Höfðingi, one more by Hannibal frá Þúfum, and two additional foals belonging to other owners.

Spring in Iceland truly is a magical time ✨

Two hearts of the Hestasport family crossed the rainbow bridge within only two days of each other. 🌈🐾

Phoenix and Erró were never “just dogs.”They were part of everyday life here — greeting guests, following horses, waiting outside the stable doors, joining quiet moments and busy days alike. For almost 16 and nearly 14 years, they were loyal companions, faithful friends, and family.

Now the yard feels a little quieter.A little emptier.

Phoenix will forever be missed by Katja, and Erró leaves a deep space behind for Magnús. And all of us at Hestasport feel that loss too.

Some dogs leave pawprints not only on the ground, but on the soul.Thank you for every step, every wagging tail, every adventure, and every moment of unconditional love.

Winter Vibes We are now at our darkest days in Iceland! Today it was a photographers paradise because the light was amazing even when the weather was more than unpleasant but the pictures of the landscape and the horses were amazing. Don’t you agree?
