This is the edge of a glacial lagoon, where chunks of ice break off and drift out into water that's gone cloudy from all the sediment the glacier's been grinding down for centuries. The moss-covered slopes behind it used to be bare rock, it's taken decades for that green to creep in and take hold.
It's quiet out here, mostly just the sound of water shifting and the occasional crack of ice settling. Worth slowing down for, even if it's just a stop along a longer route.
