🔔 Avviso ai passeggeri
In riferimento alle recenti normative comunitarie che consentono l’esenzione dai controlli sui liquidi superiori a 100cc nel bagaglio a mano, occorre precisare per tutti i passeggeri in partenza dal nostro scalo, che l’ attuale esenzione è legata all’utilizzo di macchinari per il controllo dei bagagli a mano (scanner EDSCB-C3) prodotti da una specifica ditta e dotati di un software certificato a livello europeo.
Le nostre apparecchiature, pur essendo di ultimissima generazione tecnologica, utilizzano un software che è attualmente in fase di un processo di ricertificazione da parte delle autorità comunitarie competenti.
⚠️ Pertanto, fino al completamento di tale iter attualmente in corso, le regole per il trasporto di liquidi nel bagaglio a mano per i passeggeri in partenza da Catania restano invariate.
Vi preghiamo fino ad allora di continuare a:
👉Separare liquidi, aerosol e gel in contenitori non superiori a 100ml o 100gr.
👉Inserire tali contenitori in una busta di plastica trasparente e sigillabile di capacità non superiore a 1 litro.
👉Rimuovere tale busta dal bagaglio a mano e presentarla separatamente al momento dei controlli di sicurezza.
Sarà cura dello scalo informarvi tempestivamente non appena il processo di certificazione sarà concluso e le nuove procedure potranno essere applicate anche nel nostro aeroporto.

With reference to the recent EU regulations allowing the exemption from controls on liquids exceeding 100ml in hand luggage, we would like to clarify for all passengers departing from our airport that the current exemption applies only to airports using specific hand luggage screening equipment (EDSCB-C3 scanners) manufactured by a particular company and equipped with software certified at the European level.
Although our equipment is of the latest technological generation, it currently operates with software that is undergoing a re-certification process by the competent EU authorities.
⚠️ Therefore, until this ongoing process is completed, the rules for carrying liquids in hand luggage for passengers departing from Catania remain unchanged.
In the meantime, we kindly ask you to continue to:
👉 Separate liquids, aerosols, and gels into containers no larger than 100ml or 100g.
👉 Place these containers in a single transparent, resealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than 1 liter.
👉 Remove the plastic bag from your hand luggage and present it separately during security screening.
The airport will promptly inform you as soon as the certification process is completed and the new procedures can be applied at our facility.
