There is a particular kind of calm that settles over the Salento at this time of year, and it seems to reverberate both inside and beyond the walls of the Dimora.
The walks by the sea and through the villages are quieter now, unhurried and undisturbed. Nature, too, has changed its voice: the relentless summer chorus of the cicadas has faded, giving way to softer sounds and a slower rhythm. The first rains have washed away the last traces of summer, bringing back the green and leaving the landscape fresh once again.
And yet, the season is far from over. Exhibitions, restaurants and intimate live concerts continue to animate the evenings, creating that wonderful in-between time when summer slowly gives way to autumn.
