My first time traveling with Delectable Destinations to Amsterdam and the surrounding area on “The Holland In Bloom” Tour, was exactly that, DELECTABLE!

I just knew from the very first get-acquainted Zoom meeting before the trip that it was going to be a great trip. Carol, Jennell, and one other future fellow traveler were at the meeting. That was just the beginning of a very personal and detail-oriented travel experience. We discussed the trip in general, as well as what we, the clients, expected from the trip.

From my airport transfer to the final departure, every detail was covered. Our home base in Amsterdam was an upscale boutique hotel called Hotel Estherea. It was lovely and had a fun surprise, two resident British Shorthair cats named Wimmells & Glacier. The hotel was in a great location with a beautiful view right on the Singel Canal, Amsterdam’s oldest canal.

The restaurants, activities, personal experiences, excursions, local guides, drivers, transportation, and destinations were all well thought out and designed to be effortless for us, so we could enjoy the experience while Delectable Destinations covered the details. Our drivers were courteous, competent, and safe, and our vehicles were clean. As a single woman, that’s important to me. Jennell headed up our tour, and Carol joined us at the end of the week. Jennell was so accommodating to every individual. I felt safe, secure, and pampered. We also got to know Jennell and Carol on a more personal level, since DD specializes in very small-group tours. There were only 6 other ladies on this trip. I really enjoyed getting to know the other women, who were lovely and accomplished. The small group allows for personal attention and detail-oriented travel.

An added bonus was the expert photography of Jennell and Carol. They took documentation of this trip to the next level. They photographed us all, so we could really immerse ourselves in the experiences again, knowing we’d have beautiful photos to relive the memories.

As the name “Delectable Destinations” suggests, the restaurants and food were amazing! Visiting local residents’ homes, cooking, conversing, and dining with them was a unique, intimate experience that would not be possible on other tours with larger groups.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this trip and look forward to possibly exploring new Delectable Destinations in the future.

I met Carol, of Delectable Destinations, in the Fall of 2019 and booked my first curated excursion with four friends. Since then, I have enjoyed nine adventures in eight countries, making new friends whom I see on subsequent adventures. All trips consistently met or exceeded Carol's high standards. I must, however, write a review of our latest adventure in Morocco.

Touring the major sites and mosques of Casablanca, Fez, & Marrakech, along with the Sahara Desert via camels, UNESCO Roman & Berber ruins, wineries (yes, there are vineyards in Morocco), medinas, and the incredible Olinto Mountain Resort in the Atlas Mountains is like starring in an Indian Jones movie without the bad guys chasing you!

Our guide, Mohammed, was highly knowledgeable and consistently provided us with water, snacks, and surprise gifts, which made our van journey from adventure to adventure delightful and scenic.

The food throughout our journey was so fresh and plentiful. All our meals featured freshly baked bread, vegetables, chicken, beef, and lamb. Our cooking class using a tagine resulted in many purchases. I learned to look forward to the custom of a greeting in shops and riads of green tea with mint and delicious almond cookies.

Only in Morocco can you stay in a hotel that is a riad- a former palace with an interior garden and fountain, then enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of a medina.

We wore our jewel-toned kaftans to visit the Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech. The large cobalt blue, yellow, and orange vases, strategically placed among the flowers, trellises, benches, and koi ponds, gave us many photo opportunities.

In Fez, we shopped for magnificent carpets, colorful scarves, leather coats, tagines, and hand-made mosaic fountains while watching artisans at work. Of course, a pharmacy selling argan skin & hair products along with unique spices was a hit.

The spa treatments and the beauty of the Olinto Mountain Resort at the end were so good that we didn't want to leave for home!

I can't wait for my next adventure in the Fall - Chile & Argentina. I will enjoy catching up with former Delectable Destination travel buddies and planning for trip #11.

We, along with two long-time friends, recently returned from an adventure in Greece with Carol and her Delectable Destinations team. The hotels, restaurants, activities, and free time during this curated 3-destination trip were amazing. Credit to the Delectable Destination team for all the planning and prep work that made the time together flawless.

The trip took us first to Athens for 3 nights with a welcome dinner, plenty of free time and an evening tour of the Acropolis. Next were 4 nights in Crete. The adventure included a boutique harbor-side hotel, wine tasting, exploring, olive oil tasting, and a Greek Cooking school. Just can’t say enough about that part of the adventure. Koula was so much fun, and we have already started playing with the recipes and Greek cooking techniques we learned. Sounds like Delectable Destinations always includes some kind of cooking adventure on the trips. A highlight! Finally, 4 nights in Santorini. Clearly, one of the most stunning locations we have ever seen. Wine tasting, more superb restaurants, including Armeni, and a short boat ride to a hidden gem. The Grand Finale was a trip-ending Catamaran ride on the Aegean Sea, exploring the volcanic remnants of Santorini, dipping in the water, having a wonderful dinner, and watching the sunset.

The moment we stepped off the plane, we were greeted by a private meet-and-greet representative who guided us through Customs. A driver was waiting for us every step of the way, and we marvelled at how Carol found fun, informative, and passionate guides for our planned activities, providing a memorable experience for all.

The hotels and the staff at each location were amazing. The Stella Rocca A Mare in Santorini was simply jaw-dropping.

The organized dinners were always at great locations. Views, ambiance, food and wine!!

There was also the right amount of free time to let us explore on our own. Carol and her team provided connections for specific things we wanted to do, like visiting the Poseidon Temple outside of Athens or the e-bike tour to the Athens coast.

And we can’t say enough about the people. Not just Carol and the Delectable Destinations group, but the way our total group of eight blended. Yamas!

My recent journey through Tuscany with Delectable Destinations was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences of my life.

For seven incredible days, we explored the breathtaking Tuscan countryside, immersing ourselves in the culture, history, food, and traditions that make this region so special. Every day brought a new adventure. We visited a charming goat farm, toured a vineyard and olive oil farm, went truffle hunting through the beautiful countryside, and then enjoyed a spectacular five-course meal featuring the very truffles we had discovered that day.

One of my favorite experiences was a hands-on cooking class held at a lovely countryside estate. The hospitality we received throughout the week was exceptional. Every host we met was welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing their slice of Tuscany with us.

The meals alone were worth the trip. Time after time, we found ourselves dining while overlooking stunning mountains, rolling hills, vineyards, and fields that seemed to stretch endlessly into the horizon. Every meal felt like something out of a dream.

The villa was absolutely outstanding. Each guest had their own spacious room, complete with a luxurious master-style bathroom, a comfortable sitting area, a private outdoor space, beautiful views, and wonderfully comfortable beds. It was the perfect place to relax after each day’s adventures.

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this trip. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and every experience exceeded my expectations.

If you are considering a trip to Tuscany, I wholeheartedly recommend traveling with Delectable Destinations. It is an experience that will stay with me forever.

Our second day in the Douro Valley brought us deeper into the world of port, with tastings led by our wonderful port expert and an unforgettable off-the-beaten-path lunch in a truly special hidden gem. Some experiences are best kept secret — reserved for those who travel with Delectable Destinations. We ended the day with a peaceful Douro River boat ride, sipping a 40-year-old tawny as the sun dipped behind the vineyards. The perfect ending to our time in the Douro Valley. 🍷☀️🇵🇹

The Douro Valley is more than a wine region — it’s a place of rich history, breathtaking terraced landscapes, unforgettable wines and ports, and genuine connection. From farm-to-table lunches at family vineyards to the warmth of the people who welcomed us so graciously, every moment here has been special.
