Traveling to Europe requires meeting strict passport criteria to ensure smooth entry into the Schengen Area and beyond. Tourists planning to visit popular destinations such as Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland must meet two crucial passport requirements to avoid being denied entry:

1. Passport Issue Date: Your passport must have been issued within the last 10 years from the date of your arrival in these countries. Passports issued before October 1, 2018, may not meet this requirement and could result in denied entry.

2.Passport Validity: Your passport must have at least three months of validity remaining beyond your planned departure date. Without this, entry will be refused, as the passport will be considered invalid for travel.

I'm sure by now that you have heard the great news:
The Department of Transportation announced it is rolling out new rules that will require airlines to automatically give cash refunds to passengers for canceled and significantly delayed flights.

Airlines can no longer decide how long a delay must be before a refund is issued. Under the new DOT rules, the delays covered would be more than three hours for domestic flights and more than six hours for international flights. (Through EU regulations, you are already allowed partial to full refunds for delayed and canceled flights).

This includes tickets purchased directly from airlines, travel agents and third-party sites such as Expedia and Travelocity.

The DOT rules lay out that passengers will be "entitled to a refund if their flight is canceled or significantly changed, and they do not accept alternative transportation or travel credits offered."

DOT will also require airlines to give cash refunds if your bags are lost and not delivered within 12 hours.

The refunds must be issued within seven days, according to the new DOT rules, and must be in cash unless the passenger chooses another form of compensation. Airlines can no longer issue refunds in forms of vouchers or credits when consumers are entitled to receive cash.

Airlines will have six months to comply with the new rules.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced the new rules Wednesday.

Today in Florence, the Scoppio del Carro , or the "Explosion of the Cart" to celebrate Easter Sunday with a centuries-old fireworks show.

The big cart called the "brindellone" has already arrived to the Piazza, brought by four white decorated oxen.

This video captures the moment the priest rubs 3 flints together to light the Easter candle and then in turn to light the small rocket shaped like a Dove, the "Colombina".

The Dove will fly out of the Cathedral into the cart and start the "explosion ", or rather, the fireworks show.
