ECO FRIENDLY FAMILY HOLIDAYS IN THE MARCHE, ITALY. Il Roccolo Ascoli Piceno is a new venture set up by Martine and David Albon in the Marche region of Italy.

We have moved here from the UK with our son George, to live and have set up a holiday cottage with the focus on providing high quality eco-friendly family holidays in a secluded but easily accessible location. Situated on the flanks of Monte Piselli, the cottage (La Casetta) overlooks the majestic town of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche, Italy. In among the mountains, close to lovely hill top towns, w

ith great wine producers, great views, great walks, half an hour from the Monte Sibillini and Monti della Laga national parks and half an hour from the sea. The cottage is a converted stable recently renovated (2013) to provide comfortable and attractive accommodation for up to 6 people. In addition there is ample space around the cottage for guests to go for walks, play games, eat outdoors either in the shade or under the Mediterranean sun or simply to relax. You may not wish to move far from the terrace and 7 acres of woodland and meadow in which the cottage is situated, but if you choose to then you'll discover a beautiful but largely undiscovered region of Italy with lots to offer. Il Roccolo is an ideal base to explore the region or to simply sit back and allow time to pass by.

Le Grotte di Camerano, near Ancona, is a really interesting place to visit. We spent 90 minutes wandering the caves dug out under the centre of this pretty town with a good and interesting guide. The piazza is a beautiful place to have an aperitivo afterwards too!
Just over an hour’s drive from Il Roccolo Ascoli Piceno. 😎
