📚 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗼𝗙 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗪𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 reaches its final chapter.

What becomes visible when we look beyond averages, conventional indicators and one-size-fits-all policies?

In this final edition of the Series, we feature two research projects from the Fellows of the EoF Academy:

🏛️ 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝗮́𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘇 𝗩𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝘀 (𝘐𝘯𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱)

From child poverty and environmental health risks to families’ financial realities after childbirth, both studies reveal vulnerabilities that conventional measures can overlook. They remind us that effective public policy must consider how people’s actual circumstances shape their opportunities and well-being.

With these two projects, we reach the end of this edition of the 𝗘𝗼𝗙 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗪𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱. Over the past weeks, we have shared the research and perspectives developed by the Fellows of the 2025-2026 EoF Academy.

The Series comes to a close, but the journey of the 𝗘𝗼𝗙 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 continues. Stay with us: more news is coming soon!

Over the past weeks, we have been asking what 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 might mean for the economy.

Can it reshape the way we understand technology, enterprise and our relationships with one another? Can it become something we study, practice and build into economic life?

In just a few days, these questions will leave our screens and enter a shared experience.

Young economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and changemakers will bring different disciplines, professions and lived experiences into the same conversation. Through research, dialogue, collaborative work and community life, they will explore fraternity not only as an idea, but as a possible way of seeing, working and responding to the economic challenges of our time.

The questions remain open. But soon, we will begin exploring them together.

🇨🇭 The Economy of Francesco: An Economy Serving Society

📅 29 August 2026
📍 aki Zürich – Hirschengraben 66, Zürich, Switzerland
🔗 Event information and registration: https://aki-zh.ch/events/freundefest2026/?occurrence=2026-08-29

What might an economy look like when it truly serves people, society and our common home?

At aki Zürich, Prof. Dr. Luca Crivelli will explore the Economy of Francesco and the call that lies at its roots: the invitation to “repair” an economy facing profound social and ecological challenges.

The lecture will reflect on the journey sparked by Pope Francis and inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi, while opening a conversation about alternatives to dominant economic paradigms — including what the plant world can teach us about interdependence, adaptation and care for the Earth.

Part of the journey, bringing the conversation about an economy with a soul into new communities and contexts.

What becomes possible when we place human relationships at the heart of economic transformation?

This week, we feature three new research projects from the Fellows of the EoF Academy:

Across migration, the care of shared resources and labor market inclusion, these studies reveal the transformative potential of relationships. They show how recognising people's talents, cultivating shared responsibility and building bonds of trust and reciprocity can contribute to more inclusive economies, stronger communities and the common good.

Stefano Rozzoni, Principal Investigator, will introduce the questions at the heart of the research, explore some tentative definitions of spiritual capital and reflect on why this concept matters for the EoF community and for economic thought more broadly.

The research journey is already under way. This conversation is an opportunity to follow it as it develops and bring your questions into the discussion.
