Good Afternoon everybody,
Truffle festival in Chieti this weekend., but not only... We have visited Chieti in more than one occasion and never been disappointed. We think that this weekend would be a great opportunity to visit and discover the hidden treasure of this beautiful elegant city. From the Museum Barbella, the Marrucino Theatre, The Roman Amphitheatre, and the National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo with the incredible "Capestrano Warrior" statue. Remember that Sunday the 6th is also the first Sunday of the month and this means that all the National Museum are free to visit....

What a great combination, a Sunday stroll immerse in art, history, and culture with a stroll along the street in Chieti historic centre, lined with different market stalls selling crafts, antique, bric a brac, and of course you can indulge yourself enjoying a typical dish served with freshly grated truffle.... What can you ask more? Oh yes, a good glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, that's it...

As i mentioned in our previous post, the Day Out Event scheduled for Sat. 12th September will be a Great Weekend to enjoy and discover more abruzzo's Secrets.

Here are few details about our Weekend Out from Sat.12th to Sun.13th

After the walk in Campo Imperatore we will head to Navelli and stay in a 18th century beautifully restored Historic Palace. Bedrooms with high ceilings and original frescoes, outdoor swimming pool to enjoy. Navelli historic centre just few steps away where we can visit the Saffr4on Museum for which it is world wide renowned.

The owners are producers of award winning Extra Virgin Olive oil and wines.

The organic collection includes a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with great structure and wild berries on the nose;

A delicious Cerasuolo D'Abruzzo deep red cherry colour, with red berries, pomegranate and violet parfumes;

The Pecorino. whose peculiarity is that is made with a blend of Pecorino grapes from a small vineyard near the Gran Sasso at 700mt a.s.l. and Pecorino grapes from vineyards just few km from the sea, both cultivated with organic method. The result is just perfect.

Last but not least their Montepulciano D'Abruzzo "Riserva" produced with grapes from 40 years old vineyards.

And if uncontaminated nature is not enough to make you want to visit us in Abruzzo, then let me tell you something about its hidden art treasures...

Abruzzo is often lumped into "Il Mezzogiorno" due to 200 years of Spanish rule, but this central region is actually an overlooked powerhouse of Renaissance and Baroque art. Far from an artistic vacuum, it birthed and inspired legendary masters whose 16th and 17th-century masterpieces still hidden in quiet mountain towns. From the breathtaking frescoes of the "Sistine Chapel of Abruzzo" in Bominaco to the world-renowned Renaissance ceramics of Castelli, this region rivals Italy’s famous art hubs without the heavy crowds.

Here are few points why you should Discover Abruzzo with us:

- The Spanish Illusion: Explore how centuries of Spanish viceroyalty shaped local architecture and traditions
- Renaissance Masters: Uncover hidden masterpieces by brilliant regional artists like Saturnino Gatti and Andrea De Litio.
- Exclusive Access: Walk straight into quiet, empty chapels and fortresses normally locked to the public.

Ready to see the side of Italy most tourists completely miss? Check out our upcoming tailored itineraries at www.passuccitravel.com to secure your spot on our next exclusive art tour!
