Please join Molly and Amalia ArtigiAmalia once again for a relaxing, creative workshop in Atessa on Monday 19th October. If you are ready to turn wool into art then this weaving workshop is perfect for you. Join us for an inspiring creative few hours where you will learn the beautiful craft of weaving from scratch and take home your very own textured wall hanging.
In this beginner friendly workshop you will learn:
How to string and warp
Essential basic knots, classic weaving tecniques and fringing
How to build,start and finish a custom colourful imagined landscape or seascape wallhanging.
All materials are provided
The workshop will also include a coffee and biscuit break and a delicious light lunch

TIME: 9.30-2.30 (approx)

We had the great pleasure of accompanying Mike and Cindy Fawcett from Calgary, Canada, to visit Ortona. Cindy's Grandfather, Private George James Christianson of the Seaforth Highlander Regiment lost his life during the infamous Battle of Ortona Christmas 1943. It was a poignant but great day of remebrance of the heroic acts that thousands of young people did so we could enjoy todays freedom. We started at the fantastic and highly reccomended War Museum Gustav Line Orsogna where we met with the founder Riccardo Fusilli a true champion in keeping the memory for the younger generations alive. We continue to visit Casa Berardi and "The Gully" where Private George fell along side many other of his Brothers in arms. Although changed we could clearly make up in our minds what kind of hell they went through, We then stopped along the coast before we arrived at the "Battle of Ortona Canadian War Cemetery", Cindy's Grandfather final resting place. Emotions run very high, with moments of silence and respect for what they did, so young. Finally we arrived in Ortona and walked along the key points where this brutal battle has been fought, and where 1,300 civilian, 1,476 Canadian soldiers lost their lives. They say that history should teach not to make the same mistakes......
Thank you to Mr Riccardo Fusilli for making this day even more special by opening the museum just for us. Truly memorable day.

Another day out for an important meeting in beautiful Sulmona. After a great drive through the breathtaking sceneries and landscape of the mountains of the Majella National Park, i arrived in Sulmona.

I came here during the Giostra Cavalleresca and it was buzzing with thousand of tourists. Such a contrast to see Corso Ovidio so "tranquillo" and the Piazza Garibaldi "vuota" but so beautiful to be able to see it in all its splendour.

I took advantage of having time in my hands so i walked in the Complex of the SS Annunziata, and i highly recommend you visit it next time you come to Sulmona.

Ah, i almost forgotten to tell you to be prepared when walking along the Corso Ovidio to taste the delicious local specialties, the Confetti.....

A Sunday stroll in beautiful Chieti. Although we have been few times before, Chieti never ceased to amaze us with its elegant Corso, aristocratic Palaces, and history dating back to pre-Roman times. Good Afternoon everybody,
Truffle festival in Chieti this weekend., but not only... We have visited Chieti in more than one occasion and never been disappointed. We think that this weekend would be a great opportunity to visit and discover the hidden treasure of this beautiful elegant city. From the Museum Barbella, the Marrucino Theatre, The Roman Amphitheatre, and the National Archaeological Museum of Abruzzo with the incredible "Capestrano Warrior" statue. Remember that Sunday the 6th is also the first Sunday of the month and this means that all the National Museum are free to visit....

What a great combination, a Sunday stroll immerse in art, history, and culture with a stroll along the street in Chieti historic centre, lined with different market stalls selling crafts, antique, bric a brac, and of course you can indulge yourself enjoying a typical dish served with freshly grated truffle.... What can you ask more? Oh yes, a good glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, that's it...
