🚀 Building a stronger communication community across borders! 🇪🇺🇬🇷🇮🇹

Almost 50 communication officers and consultants joined the first online meeting of the Interreg VI-A Greece–Italy Programme Communication Officers Network on 25 June 2026.

The Network aims to:
✨ strengthen coordinated communication across the Programme and its projects;
🤝 share tools, guidelines and best practices;
📣 develop joint communication campaigns and events;
🌍 increase the visibility of project results;
💙 showcase the added value of European Territorial Cooperation to citizens and stakeholders.

The meeting featured:
🎤 official welcome from Maria Nezeriti (MA head) and Gianfranco Gadaleta (JS coordinator) ;
📖 focus on storytelling & visual communication;
📸 tips for creating engaging photos and videos;
💡 an interesting case study from ENERGIE project, presenting a successful campaign on a successful call for talents by Anna Liberti ARTI Puglia and Emma Taveri Fondazione Just B ETS

🤝 Coastal erosion monitoring: Adcoast Interreg in Zakynthos for field visits and next steps!

On 8–9 June 2026, representatives of all four project partners from Greece and Italy met in Zakynthos to review the project's progress and define the next steps towards tackling coastal erosion and strengthening climate resilience.

The meeting included discussions on project management, communication activities, pilot actions for coastal monitoring, and a field visit to a coastal area of Zakynthos affected by erosion.

🌊 Working together for resilient coastal communities and a more sustainable future.

🎥 Watch the highlights from important two days committees for our Programme in Matera (8-9 june 2026).

The 6th Monitoring Committee Meeting 2021-2027 brought together partners and stakeholders to review progress and approve 13 new projects worth €11.4 million.

The day after also marked another significant milestone: the first Programming Committee meeting for the 2028-2034 period, officially launching discussions on the future of the Programme and the priorities that will shape the next generation of cross-border initiatives.

🌊⚓ Strengthening resilience against climate risks in port areas!

Last week the ANEMOS project partners gathered in Corigliano-Rossano for the project's second technical meeting, together with representatives of the Joint Secretariat of the Greece–Italy Programme.

🔍 The meeting focused on the analysis of climate hazard data collected in the pilot ports, a crucial step towards:
🌪️ Understanding storm-related risks
🏗️ Assessing port resilience
📊 Measuring impacts on the Blue Economy

By combining knowledge, technology and cooperation, ANEMOS is helping port communities better anticipate, prepare for and respond to extreme weather events, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable future for the Greece–Italy cooperation area. 🌍💙

Make healthier food choices can change lives! 🥗

Sun-drenched Ioannina hosted the latest chapter of the project! ☀️🇬🇷

On 18–19 June, partners from Greece and Italy came together to turn plans into action 💪 testing initiatives to help people eat healthier, presenting the first mock-up of : the digital tool to connect health professionals and patients across borders 💻, and strengthening the local networks that will bring the project's impact closer to communities 🤝
Because when communities come together across borders, prevention becomes more than a goal, it becomes a reality.

A new young voice for marine biodiversity 🌊

Within the SEALIFE project, the Parco Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase has welcomed Marika Maruccia, a 24-year-old IVY volunteer, through the Interreg Volunteer Youth - IVY 🇪🇺

Marika will support communication and awareness-raising activities, helping bring SEALIFE closer to local communities and citizens.

With her fresh perspective, she will contribute to sharing the importance of protecting marine and coastal biodiversity, with a special focus on the Mediterranean monk seal 🦭 and the preservation of its habitats.

Because protecting nature also means involving people, sharing knowledge and giving space to new generations.

Heritage 🏛️, innovation 💡 and cooperation 🤝 came together in Matera during two inspiring days for the ENERGIE project.
Project partners and local stakeholders explored a question that matters to many historic cities: how can we become more sustainable without losing the identity that makes places unique? 🌍

From sustainable mobility and strategic planning to the opportunities offered by Matera’s Digital Twin, the discussion showed that heritage and innovation can grow stronger together.
And what better place than the city of the Sassi to imagine new ways of connecting people, places and ideas? ✨
