💙✨🇪🇺 Visual Communication and EU funded projects. Our Programme was invited to take part in a very interesting and useful INFORM EU seminar in Valencia about making visible what is changing our daily lives.

Experts from across the EU have gathered to Spain to learn how to develop contemporary and catchy visuals to design how Europe is transforming lives 🌍

The thematic seminar included the visit to EU funded projects in stunning venues as the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències - Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (now more sustainable with 7,000 photovoltaic tiles that power the building with clean energy ☀️) and the Superior Tribunal of Justice, completely restored.

Two tangible examples of how big is the impact of EU in the common lives of citizens.

The contributes of experts such as from Interact Programme and Escola superior de disseny Valenciana helped the communication officers to implement their knowledge in imagery and visual in representing EU stories that deserves to be told. 💫🇪🇺

Shared monitoring standards, pilot actions, training activities and the future Permanent Cross-Border Biodiversity Observatory. 🔬🌍

Those were the focuses of NESTS project held on 26 and 27 May 2026 for the second project meeting, strengthening biodiversity monitoring and cooperation in Natura 2000 sites. 🇮🇹🇬🇷

Participants also visited Politses, in the Natura 2000 area Metsovo Area (Anilio–Katara), where experts presented innovative tools such as drones, sensors, trap cameras and satellite imagery for biodiversity monitoring. 🛰️📸🌱

This event represents an important step forward for the NESTS partnership, showing how cooperation can become concrete action to protect natural heritage and support more sustainable territories. 🤝💚

🌿🇬🇷 🇮🇹 Exciting progress for the TAGsTwo project!

The four greek pilot areas of TAGsTwo - Interreg Greece-Italy project have officially been selected:
📍 the organic olive grove of the University of Patras
📍 Diakopto (Aigio)
📍 Stamna
📍 Katochi (Messolonghi)

These locations were chosen for their representative Mediterranean conditions, especially for 🌳 olives and 🍊 citrus crops, and will become living laboratories for innovative precision agriculture solutions.

🔬 Through the deployment of sensors, digital platforms, and data-driven technologies, the project will support:
💧 water-use monitoring
🌱 soil analysis
🍃 crop health assessment
📈 yield performance evaluation

All collected data will contribute to the development of a smart Decision Support System (DSS), helping farmers adopt more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices 🚜🌍

🇮🇹 On the Italian side, the Quattrò farm in Guardavalle (Calabria) has also been recently selected as a pilot site!
The farm hosts over 🌳 400 olive trees and around 🍋 30 citrus trees

🇪🇺🇬🇷🇮🇹 Strengthening Greece–Italy cooperation to support the digital future of SMEs across the Mediterranean!

On 14–15 May 2026, partners of the C4T Companies for Tomorrow Interreg Greece-Italy met in Lamezia Terme, hosted by Een Unioncamere Calabria, to advance collaboration on sustainable and smart digital transformation initiatives for SMEs.

The meeting brought together institutional representatives, universities, chambers of commerce, business associations, research centres, and SMEs from both countries to exchange knowledge, strengthen cooperation networks, and explore new opportunities for innovation and territorial development.

Discussions focused on:
🔹 strengthening innovation ecosystems
🔹 enhancing SMEs’ digital capacities
🔹 supporting research and technology transfer
🔹 promoting workforce development and Industry 4.0 skills
🔹 creating new cross-border cooperation opportunities

Through dialogue, stakeholder engagement, and shared strategic vision, the C4T Project continues to contribute to a more resilient, innovative, and digitally connected programme area. 🚀

🌿 From shared priorities to concrete action.

The NATURES project continues to advance cross-border cooperation between Italy and Greece for the protection of priority species and natural habitats.

At the second project meeting, held in Camigliatello Silano and hosted by the Sila National Park, partners discussed the progress of technical activities and defined the next steps towards Conservation Plans, monitoring actions, pilot activities and a common transnational strategy.

With the participation of Ms Chrysa Pierri, Project Officer of the Programme, the meeting confirmed the partners’ commitment to turning cooperation into practical tools for biodiversity conservation.

From innovation… to the field! 🇬🇷 🇮🇹

The TAGsTwo - Interreg Greece-Italy meeting in Bari (May 14–15) concluded successfully with the participation of the whole partnership and the Joint Secretariat, highlighting how Precision Agriculture is already transforming olive and citrus farming.

At the headquartier of CREA - Ricerca, the event has been opened by the institutional greeting of the Honorary Consul of the Hellenic Republic in Bari.

Building on TAGs, the current projects is focusing on turning knowledge into real practice. Strong cooperation via Interreg drives this effort.

After years of collaboration, Alsia Basilicata, partner of the BIOCHAIN project, and CREA - Ricerca partner of TAGsTwo - Interreg Greece-Italy, further strengthened their cooperation through a dedicated twinning session between the two projects, held in the presence of the TAGsTwo consortium, sharing ideas, innovative and smart solutions for a more sustainable agrifood future.
