How to Get from Bari Airport to the City Centre
Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (also known as Bari Palese Airport) is located about 10 km from the city centre. There are several easy ways to reach central Bari.
✈️ 1. Train (Fastest option)
After leaving the airport terminal, turn left to reach the airport train station.
Trains are operated by Ferrotramviaria (lines FR2 / FM2).
Trains go directly to Bari Centrale, the main railway station in the city centre.
Travel time: about 18–20 minutes
Ticket price: around €5.30
Trains run frequently from early morning until late evening.
This is the fastest and most convenient option for most travelers.
🚌 2. Bus
Public bus – Line 16
The bus stop is located outside the arrivals terminal.
Bus 16 connects the airport with the city centre, including the area near Bari Centrale.
Travel time: 40–60 minutes (many stops)
Ticket price: about €1–1.50
This is the cheapest option, but also the slowest.
Airport shuttle bus
A private shuttle bus also runs between the airport and central Bari.
Travel time: around 30 minutes
Ticket price: about €4–5
Fewer stops than the public bus.

Taxis are available directly outside the arrivals hall.
Travel time: 20–30 minutes
Fixed fare: usually between €23 and €30 to the city centre
This option is best if you have a lot of luggage, arrive late at night, or travel in a group.

Driving from the airport to central Bari takes about 20–25 minutes.
Follow local roads or the SS16 road toward the city.
