The Valle San Lucano is a geological wonder. Carved by glaciers, it is one of the deepest glacial valleys in the world, 2000m deep in places. Not only this but it's exceptionally narrow, a ratio of 1:1 which is truly unusual. To the left, the 1500m high North face of Monte Agner soars, the tallest face of the Dolomites. Whilst to the right is the Pale di San Lucano is a mere 1400m high. It's a truly special place, and as I drove past this evening it was shrouded in cloud, making it look even more mystical than normal.

Lovely little trip to the top of Sass Di Roccia in Laste. This great little Via Ferrata isn't long, although it is quite steep. It features a couple of rung ladders and some bridges and leads to a fantastic little Bivouac hut. We stopped for lunch and for the rain to pass through before making our way back down.

Fantastic news, the Serrai di Sottoguda has officially reopened which means a return by is now possible! Since Storm Vaia the gorge has officially been out of bounds. It's great to be able to welcome you back from this winter. Of course there are lots of other areas which have continued to provide sport. But the gorge is such easy access, with such a great range of routes that it makes it ideal for beginners and returning experienced climbers alike.

To reach the main event, a 600m descent down a narrow you must first across the plateau from , a distance of some 9km with around 300m of ascent at 3000m or more.
