🦋Three days in Lisbon for the annual meeting of the Migrantour network, as part of the Routes of Mobility project.
A valuable moment of exchange among European cities working in different contexts but facing shared challenges: how to understand urban transformations, how to avoid oversimplified narratives, and how to create spaces where communities can take an active role.
Activities in Mouraria - including intercultural walks, workshops, and working sessions - focused on key issues: the relationship between tourism and neighborhoods, processes of gentrification, the risk of losing local identities, and the real opportunities to build new narratives starting from those who live these places every day.
Alongside the working sessions, moments of conviviality - from shared lunches to the benefit party - were just as important. They reflect the social and community dimension of relationship-building at the heart of Renovar a Mouraria’s daily work.
☀️ For us in Bergamo, Migrantour continues to be a concrete tool: not just guiding, but a way of critically engaging with the city and building relationships.
In this context, we also presented as a complementary experience: cinema as a space where stories take shape and spark dialogue.
🧡 Thanks to Renovar a Mouraria for the organization and to the Migrantour network for such a meaningful and practical exchange.
Back in Bergamo, this work continues with the launch of a new Migrantour training programme for intercultural guides, building on the work developed together with the European network.
