The place I never thought I’d write about on this page

I love it when I get to change my mind, and this destination definitely made me rethink my view of the town of Tolentino.

ALERT: I didn’t manage to explore the entire old city center, which undoubtedly deserves a more thorough visit.

We headed to Tolentino for a DAY SPA at , a place recommended by a friend. The experience was absolutely incredible.

Before checking in, we made a quick stop for lunch at , a magical spot just 5 minutes from our final destination. Famous for its sandwiches, it’s easy to see why. We tried an amazing “AMATRICIANA” sandwich with guanciale, pecorino, and tomatoes, but there are plenty of other enticing options. The prices are very reasonable, the vibe is cool and authentic, and the owner is both funny and polite. Highly recommended.

We arrived at Interno Marche just in time for our SPA appointment. Our room was available until late afternoon, giving us plenty of time to unwind.

The rooms at Interno Marche are an experience in themselves. Each one is dedicated to a design icon and tells a story that transports you to another era and vision. This four-star hotel is a gift from the founder of the Poltrona Frau brand to the town where it all began.

We stayed in the room dedicated to CERRI, and the interior design was breathtaking. Every detail, no matter how small, was perfect.

At 2 PM, we headed to the spa and had it all to ourselves. The pool was lovely and comfortable, the Finnish sauna spacious and bright, and the Hammam steaming hot and filled with v***r. The relaxation area? Well, take a look at the photos.

We fell in love with the entire place, and though we didn’t have time to dine at the restaurant, we’ll definitely be back for that.

So, if you’re in the Marche region—near Macerata, Fermo, or even in the Foligno area of Umbria—this is absolutely a place to visit. Especially recommended for those who adore architecture and design.

RISTORANTE DONATELLO
🍽Food tip

If you are in you should definitely stop by the the Donatello_ for a real Bolognese Lunch.

Among many amazing typical restaurants around town this is one of my favourites for at least three reasons:
1) food is delicious
2) the atmosphere is unique
3) you’re 2 steps away from the city center (but still can park easily in Parcheggio VIII Agosto).

The place is running since 1903 and has hosted all sorts of stars who played at the close and .

Last time we went there for lunch we had: Tortellini in brodo (which I recommend), Lasagne (which I recommend as well) and a Risotto with sausage and pumpkin (which I definetly recommend)🤭.

There’s not much more to say. Go and order everything on the menu (do not forget a good bottle of ) I’m sure you’ll be very happy with the result!!

Many thanks to Isabella, Giacomo and Leone, who suggested this super restaurant. Definetly a must on our next trip in Bologna.

📍Destination Tip - Gubbio

Located in the very center of Italy (in the region), is absolutely a place to visit. Especially if you’re in love with medieval towns and castles.

Let’s start from the beginning. Umbria is a beautiful region in “middle Italy” and it is located between Lazio ( the Rome’s region) on the western side, and Le Marche, on the eastern side.

I love visiting Umbria because of its astonishing nature, its kind people, its amazing medieval towns, its food and cousine and its peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

Gubbio is one of the most beautiful medieval town I’ve ever visited. The grey stone it has been built with makes the street and alleys look truly magical. Loosing yourself walking around the town you have the very feeling of being in the past.

The town grows at the foot of a green hill which makes the light and the contrast with the grey stones even more beautiful.

The food is amazing (as much as almost everywhere in Umbria). The dishes are really abundant be careful with your order.

I suggest to spend at least one night in town. There are so many thing to see and you will have a chance of sipping your aperitivo in one of the most beautiful Piazza (square) in the world.

Well, I spent there two days and can’t wait to be back to discover more about this crazy and lovely place.

2 door to door restaurants - Vatican Area

You’ve just finished your Vatican Museum tour, or your visit to San Pietro and you are super hungry. Don’t worry, we have two super tips for you.

We’ve just returned from a lovely week end in Rome and some Roman Friends suggested to try these restaurants. We loved the food and the atmosphere there: so here we are, sharing our amazing experience with you.

15 minutes walking from San Pietro Church or 2 minutes from the Subway stop Ottaviano (the “Vatican” stop) there are 2 restaurants perfect for lunch and dinner.
We recommend to make a reservation for both (give them a call a couple of hours before for lunch if you are looking for a dinner spot).

Il ragno d’oro (Il Ragno D'Oro, Osteria - Roma )
Typical Roman cuisine (mostly known from locals). Highlights: Puntarelle (impossible to explain just need to know that raw vegetables and anchovies are involved) Ca****fo alla Giudia (fried artichoke) Amatriciana, Polpette (Meatballs and tomato sauce)

Officina della birra del borgo (L'Osteria di Birra Del Borgo)
Modern architecture - Great Pizza - top quality beer

Two days on (the west coast of) Lake Garda

Last September we spent two days between Salò and Manerba del Garda, two beautiful towns on the shores of Lake Garda with our local friend Martina.

Under her suggestion, we visited the small, charming town of Salò, with its beautiful promenade by the lake and the characteristic bars and restaurants.
We also spent some time in nature swimming, sunbathing in Pisenze beach and canooeing to Isola dei Conigli.

It was a true blast!

MAGLIANO DI TENNA+OSTERIA DELL’ARCO
Old town+eating tip🤪
🔍Le Marche

It takes a few minutes to visit this little old town and it takes a few minutes to fall in love with it. Especially at
is a small medieval village built on top of an hill, surrounded by defensive walls. Because of its position Magliano offers a wide view on green hills and valleys trough the sea
In the very center (the main and only square) you’ll find Osteria dell’Arco, one of our favourite restaurant in the area
Whe suggest the Antipasto (a selection of the some of the best local cold cuts, cheese, a small taste of fried vegetables and olive all’ascolana with other amazing things...🤤), the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (a dish usually prepared in Rome, that they are known for) the grilled meat (ask them about the best daily cuts).....and as a dessert....our favourite: MILLEFOGLIE
So the perfect program for a visit in this little jewel in countryside is to head there at sunset and then stay for dinner at the Osteria
Remember to take your camera and be ready for a true Marche style dinner (also brink a jacket if you are going to eat outside. Evening on top of an hill might be chilly)
