One of the biggest myths about the Dolomites is that you need to be a serious hiker to see the good stuff. You really don't.
My 11 favorite short walks are all short and full of beautiful views. You see 9 here...and find the last 2 on my article - link in bio!
These work for pretty much any fitness level. Most are great for families, too.
My personal favorite short hike is the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint - 3.2km, about 2 hours roundtrip, and the views are genuinely some of the best I've seen up there. There's a steep bit at the start and the last stretch to the viewpoint is narrow (heads up if heights aren't your thing), but there's also a second viewpoint just next to the main one which, actually, I liked even more than the Instagram-famous one.
Walk along the Seceda ridgeline - less than 1.5km and about an hour. You take cable cars up from Ortisei to get there, and from the ridgeline you get almost 360-degree views. Theoretically you can see the Austrian Alps from the panoramic point.
Lago di Braies loop - 3.2km, about 1.5 to 2 hours on a smooth path. Most of it is easy enough for strollers. The classic view of the boathouse, the emerald water, and Croda del Becco behind it is everything.
The Dolomites reward effort, sure. But they're also genuinely generous to people who just want a beautiful walk without destroying their legs.
Which of these is on your list? 👇
