Welcome to one of my favourite months to experience Sicily! 🤩🇮🇹
The sea is still warm, the weather is much more comfortable for exploring, and the island starts to feel a little less hectic after the peak of August☀️
If you’re visiting Sicily this September, here are a few things worth adding to your list:
🏖️ Beach days: Enjoy Sicily’s beautiful beaches without the usual summer crowds.
🏛️ Explore historic cities: Wander through places like Ortigia, Noto, Palermo or Ragusa without the intense summer heat.
🌋 Discover Mount Etna: Hike, explore the volcanic landscapes or combine it with a w**e experience.
🍇 Experience the vendemmia: September is harvest season, making it a special time to visit Sicily’s w**e countryside.
🏺 Visit archaeological sites: Add the Valley of the Temples, Segesta, Selinunte or Syracuse’s Neapolis Archaeological Park to your itinerary.
🏰 Step inside a historic Palazzo or museum: One of my favourite ways to discover Sicily’s history beyond its streets.
🌿 Explore nature: September is perfect for hiking and discovering places like the Nebrodi and Sicily’s nature reserves.
