🌋 Mount Etna is making its presence known in these days!

See that plume of smoke?

That’s our mighty Etna reminding us she’s wide awake 😄

For those who aren’t from Catania—no worries! Etna is a lively and restless neighbor. Its eruptions are usually effusive, not those dramatic explosions from the movies!

The real danger is near the summit craters (3404 meters altitude), which are not accessible to the public for safety reasons.

Other than that, we mostly deal with volcanic ash inconveniences:

✅ Balconies magically turning black and dusty

✅Some delayed flights when the wind decides to send the ash in the airport direction

We’ve gotten used to this spectacle of nature!

Yesterday, there’s more ash than usual because one of the summit craters collapsed on one side, sending up a towering cloud of dust for kilometers. Luckily, there’s no wind affecting flights—just plenty of ash-covered terraces.
