With the weather hitting 36+°C 🥵 this week, there's no better time to visit some of the beautiful beaches found on the Aeolian Islands. 🤩

Take time out to visit Spiaggia della Bazzina, in Alicudi, not far from Alicudi Porto. This little cove is named after the district of the same name. The pebbly shore is surrounded by shallow, crystal clear waters, which makes it ideal for people who love the seas in this part of the world.🥰

The Riserva naturale orientata Isola di Alicudi is a protected area, with one of the most incredible views of the island being a panorama of the high, jagged coastline that's typical of the place.

On the same tour take a dip at the spiaggia di Capo Graziano, on Filicudi. The beach is located in the southernmost part of the island, and is one of Filicudi’s flagship beaches. Located on the Cape Graziano promontory, it is connected to the rest of the island by a tongue of sand no wider than 500m. The sea here is a clear and deep blue 😍

The last island we visit is Salina, stopping at Santa Marina Port - 5 minutes by foot and you reach the beautiful and long stone beach of Santa Marina, with its crystal clear waters. Spend a couple hours chilling in natural beauty,

Lipari, it's seen it all!

The little island of Lipari has seen a lot of the years, with archaeology providing evidence of the first settlers during the Neolithic Period (one of a few trading centres that existed and traded in obsidian), and then the Bronze Age (check out the *Museo Archeologico Eoliano* found on Lipari).

The Greek acropolis was built sometimes between the 6th and 4th centuries BC and is still in existence today.

In 252–251 BC the Romans attacked, and during the 9th century, the Arabs invaded Sicily.

Between 1060 and 1090, the Normans conquered, and rule of the island was passed onto many other kings over the years, until Carlos I, the Aragonese King, became the Spanish King, and was then quickly crowned Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, who had the massive fortress built that still exists today.

Interestingly, during the early 1900s, the island was used for the confinement of political prisoners.
