Scouting out stunning rooms in breathtaking locations is one of our strongest suits—and by rooms, we mean far more than just hotel accommodations. Pictured here is the luminous sitting room at Château de Fargues, a regional pillar with nearly six centuries of history. The room, as well as those in the subsequent photos, has laid the foundations for generations of convivial moments, inviting visitors new and old to gather within its walls.

Château de Fargues is one of the many iconic estates featured on our Paris, Bordeaux, Loire Valley Journey, taking place this fall and next August/September. If you’ve traveled with us before, then you’ve likely enjoyed a moment (or many!) with our Star Italian guide, Simone Pozzo. Born and raised in Ivrea, a small village in the province of Turin, Simone has been curating and managing bespoke experiential travel for over 15 years. In 2016, thanks to our mutual friends in Carema, Simone met Neal and the rest was history. A decade later, Simone remains an integral part of our Mad Rose Journeys family.

Above all, Simone’s greatest passion is introducing curious travelers to hidden gem places, restaurants, and w**eries in Europe. Whether you’ve traveled with Simone before or are meeting him for the first time here, we’re delighted to further introduce you to our inspiring Italian teammate here.

The spirit of Burgundy is best felt in the region’s cool, underground cellars. Pictured here is a recent visit to the chai of Jérome Chézeaux on our Pilgrimage to Burgundy Journey. The domaine was first introduced to us during the mid-1990s by Régis Forey, whose father, Jean, was one of Neal’s very first suppliers from the Côte de Nuits. Rosenthal W**e Merchant started with the 1994 vintage and has never looked back!

The estate, which is located just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the village of Prémeaux-Prissey, comprises 12 hectares — including holdings across some of the region’s top lieux-dits. Today, Jérome is joined by his dynamic daughter, Lyse, who has spearheaded the creation of a handful of single-vineyard bottlings. Under her oversight, the w**es remain ripe yet graceful, highlighting the silky side of Pinot Noir without ever sacrificing palate-cleansing acidity.
