Castles. Cobblestones. Crémant. 🏰🥂

From the towers of Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg to the enchanting streets of Riquewihr, this was the kind of day that makes you wonder if fairy tales got their start in Alsace.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better… eight varieties of Crémant d’Alsace appeared. Now that’s a happy ending.

Colmar has a way of winning people over quickly. ✨

Pastel half-timbered houses, flower-lined canals, winding lanes, and storks nesting high above the rooftops make this Alsatian town feel almost too charming to be real. Known as the “Venice of France,” it’s the kind of place where you wander, look up, linger by the canals, and take far too many photos.

And then, of course, there are the scarves. At this point, silk scarves have become a bit of a thing on our tours. Our hosts wear them, guests inevitably bring one along or pick one up during the trip, and before you know it, there’s a whole scarf squad strolling through town. It’s basically our unofficial uniform—completely unplanned, but somehow always happening. A little travel tradition, a little insider code. If you know, you know. 😉

The skies opened, umbrellas appeared, and our group embraced the adventure anyway.

After all, a little rain can’t diminish the beauty of this elegant spa town—it just adds a bit more sparkle to the stories we’ll tell later. 😉

🥨Fresh from the oven and full of charm! 🥨

Today, on our Black Forest journey we had a most memorable experience inside a traditional local bakery.

A baking master class with Bäckermeister Gustav! 🥨 We spent time with a local baker, learning about authentic Black Forest baking traditions in a small-town setting. For those who wanted a more hands-on experience, there was plenty of opportunity to roll up their sleeves and get a little flour on their hands. Beyond watching dough take shape, we explored the many varieties of German breads, sampled freshly baked treats, and enjoyed the bakery’s specialties along the way.

The highlight? Warm pretzels with thick slabs of butter and fresh apple juice from the surrounding hills.

A true taste of the Black Forest—and a memorable way to experience local culture. 🍎🥨

An evening at Palais Wunderlich begins in the garden, glass in hand, and unfolds into the historic cellar where owner Alex shares the stories, traditions, and distinctive wines of Baden—one of Germany’s most celebrated wine regions. Each wine is thoughtfully paired with a beautiful dinner prepared by his wife Alexandra and their wonderful team, creating an experience that feels less like a tasting and more like being welcomed into someone’s home.

There’s something about this city that invites you to slow down, wander a little, and play along.

The famous Bächle ripple through the streets, flowers burst from the market stalls, the city gates keep watch, and somewhere along the way there’s a legendary sausage, a wonderful local guide, tiny boats bobbing by, and a few very happy feet cooling off with coffee in hand.

Freiburg, you are pure joy. 🇩🇪

Sunday morning in Strasbourg: cathedral bells ringing, swans on the river, stories coming alive with our wonderful guide Ivan, and a group that knows how to wander, wonder, and laugh along the way.
From the Cathedral to the canals, Strasbourg wrapped us up in history, beauty, and just the right amount of Sunday morning magic.

We spent a day deep in the soul of the Black Forest.

Old farmhouses, haylofts, quiet village corners, … and then a tasting at a 100+ year-old distillery where they make traditional fruit brandies, schnapps, gin — and yes, the sloe gin is made right here.

This is why we love staying long enough to find the heartbeat of a place.
