At Palazzo Pitti, the Museo della Moda e del Costume celebrates Ferdinando Sarmi, the Italian couturier who brought Florentine elegance to New York. 🇮🇹✨

Now on view through 31 December 2026, the exhibition brings together iconic garments, vintage accessories and pieces from the Sarmi archive, tracing his journey from Florence to Fifth Avenue.

His creations were worn by Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich and Barbra Streisand, among other icons of the 20th century.

Il fresco che scandalizzò il Vaticano

Nel 1536 Michelangelo iniziò a dipingere il Giudizio Universale sulla parete dell’altare della Ca****la Sistina.

Ma l’opera non suscitò soltanto meraviglia.
Le oltre 300 figure rappresentate, molte delle quali completamente n**e, provocarono forti critiche. Biagio da Cesena, il cerimoniere pontificio, arrivò a considerare quelle figure più adatte a una “osteria” che a una ca****la.

E la polemica non finì lì.

Dopo la morte di Michelangelo, alcune figure furono coperte con veli e drappi da Daniele da Volterra, passato alla storia con il soprannome di “Il Braghettone”.

Ancora oggi, davanti al Giudizio Universale, è possibile riconoscere le tracce di questa controversia.

Ma cosa aveva dipinto Michelangelo di così scandaloso?
