Seen from the sea, the Cinque Terre offers a completely different perspective — colorful villages rising directly from the water, shaped by centuries of life along this dramatic coastline.

On our Cinque Terre Private Day Trip from Florence, guests experience the region from multiple angles, traveling between the villages by boat and train, and exploring each town at a relaxed pace.

We’ve recently added something special to the itinerary: a walk along the newly reopened Via dell’Amore, the historic coastal path connecting Riomaggiore and Manarola. This short but beautiful stretch offers a unique way to experience the landscape up close, with views directly over the sea.

A mountain cut open. A vineyard shaped by time.

In Carrara, marble has been taken from the earth for over 2,000 years — a place where silence, scale, and human effort meet.

Then the landscape softens.
Rolling hills, sea air, and the quiet rhythm of winemaking in Luni.

This private experience brings you through two sides of the same land — dramatic, refined, and deeply rooted in history. From the monumental marble quarries to the vineyards near the Ligurian coast, it’s a journey that reveals a lesser-known side of Tuscany.

These castles in Chianti were never just built for beauty or defense.

They were working estates, deeply connected to the land around them.

Vineyards, harvests, and cellars were an essential part of life within these walls, and wine played a role in everything from daily meals to important moments of celebration.

That connection is still very much alive today.

On this private experience, guests visit historic castle wineries, walk through ancient courtyards and cellars, and taste wines that are still shaped by the same landscapes that supported them centuries ago.

It’s a way of experiencing Chianti that goes beyond the surface — where history, place, and wine are all part of the same story.

These castles were never just for defense or display.

They were built around wine.

Long before tastings and tours, these walls protected vineyards, harvests, and cellars. Wine wasn’t an experience — it was part of daily life, part of survival, part of celebration.

Today, not much has changed.

You still walk through the same courtyards, descend into the same cellars, and taste wines that are deeply tied to the land surrounding them.
Only now, you have the time to notice it.

To slow down.To taste with intention. To understand where it all began.

Some of the best moments don’t happen during the tour — they happen at home.

In this case, at a private villa, where a family of eight spent the evening making pizza with our private chef, sharing stories, and eventually breaking into a full singalong.

Experiences like this are a great way to complement time spent exploring during the day. In addition to our tours, we also help guests organize in-villa activities such as private cooking classes, as well as assist with selecting the right accommodation for their stay.

It’s all about creating a well-rounded and memorable time in Tuscany.

If you’re planning a trip and would like to include something like this, feel free to reach out.

Some of the most interesting wines we encounter are not the famous ones — but the ones being rediscovered.

In the hills of Castelvetro, a small group of producers is working with Trebbiano di Spagna, a grape variety that was nearly forgotten and is now being brought back with impressive results, including elegant sparkling wines made using the classical method.

Despite its name, the grape has no connection to Spain — it takes its name from Via Spagna, the road where these vineyards are located.

Recently, one of these wines was featured on Italian national television during a segment on È sempre mezzogiorno! on Rai 1, where Antonella Clerici tasted and commented on it alongside a sommelier-led pairing.

It’s a great example of how tradition and innovation continue to shape this region.

We visit this winery on both of these experiences:

What connects the world of Ferrari and Pagani with a winery lunch in Emilia-Romagna?

Precision, craftsmanship, and an attention to detail that defines this region.

On this day trip from Florence, guests experience both sides of Emilia-Romagna — from the engineering excellence behind some of the world’s most iconic supercars to the traditions of local food and wine production.

Visits to the Ferrari and Pagani museums offer insight into the design and evolution of these legendary vehicles, while a stop at a local winery brings a different kind of craftsmanship to the table, with tastings and a traditional lunch.

It’s a journey that highlights how deeply rooted quality and passion are in every aspect of Italian culture — whether on the road or at the table.

There’s something special about experiencing Chianti on horseback.

We start by meeting the horses and getting comfortable in the saddle, then set off through the vineyards on quiet paths that wind through the countryside. Riding through the vines really gives you a different perspective of the landscape — slower, more connected.

Partway through, we arrive at a beautiful old villa where everything shifts into tasting mode: a walk through the cellar, time in the aging room, and then a relaxed tasting with their wines, olive oil, bread, cheeses, and cured meats.

After that, it’s back on the horses for the ride home, where a generous rustic Tuscan lunch is waiting by the fire. One of those meals where everyone lingers a little longer, sharing stories — including one from our guide about riding in the Palio di Siena years ago.

It’s a full experience that blends nature, wine, and a side of Tuscany most people don’t get to see.

If you’re curious to experience Chianti this way, you can book through the link in our profile.

This beautiful villa is one of the estates we visit on our Chianti Rufina Private Half Day Tour from Florence.

Located in the hills northeast of Florence, Chianti Rufina is the smallest sub-region of Chianti and one of the most historic wine areas in Tuscany. Its high-altitude vineyards, set along the slopes of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, produce wines known for their remarkable structure and character.

During this experience, guests visit family-run wineries, walk through vineyards, explore historic cellars, and enjoy a wine tasting and traditional Tuscan lunch overlooking the countryside.

Chianti Rufina offers a quieter and more authentic side of Tuscany — a region with a winemaking tradition that dates back to Etruscan times and was officially recognized by the Medici family in 1716.

From the ageing rooms of a traditional acetaia to a beautiful lunch shared together, this private group experience in Modena was a wonderful example of what makes food and wine travel in Italy so special.

Our guests explored the production of balsamic vinegar, discovering the difference between the larger barrels used for modern production and the small wooden batterie where Traditional Balsamic Vinegar slowly ages over decades. The experience concluded with a relaxed lunch at the acetaia’s restaurant, enjoying the flavors of Emilia-Romagna together.

At Enotropea, we specialize in designing customized food and wine experiences across Italy for small private groups, corporate events, and special celebrations.

From Modena’s historic acetaie to wineries in Tuscany and the villages of the Italian Riviera, each itinerary is tailored to the people joining us.
