Good news! On September 28th the Casamonti collection will open its doors to the public. We had the honor to visit it before the official opening and we were just amazed.
A wonderful space inside Palazzo San Giorgio in Lungarno Serristori, where you can admire masterpieces by the greatest artist of the 1900.

Era l’8 settembre 1296 quando l’Opera del Duomo pose la prima pietra che dava l’avvio alla costruzione della nuova cattedrale fiorentina. Inaugurata nel giorno in cui secondo la tradizione era nata Maria, la nuova chiesa prendeva il nome di Santa Maria del Fiore.
Domani, per celebrare questa giornata, il museo dell’Opera sarà aperto gratuitamente fino a mezzanotte.
Non perdete l’occasione di visitarlo, e godetevi le porte originali del Battistero, la Pietà Bandini di Michelangelo e le incredibili opere di Donatello!

Indeed the basilica of Santa Croce is one of our favourite churches in Florence!
Almost 300 graves are visible on its floor, and burial monuments are lined up along its walls.
Do you know of any famous people buried here? 😉

🇮🇹 La Basilica di Santa Croce è una delle nostre chiese preferite! Ci sono quasi 300 sepolture custodite nel pavimento, e lungo le pareti si susseguono i monumenti funebri.

In the Hall of the 500 in Palazzo Vecchio there are some statues representing the Twelve Labours of Hercules.
Hercules is a symbol of strength like Florence was at that time, but Hercules and the twelve Labours was also adopted by the Medici. They were strong and powerful, but they had to go through several struggles to maintain their power in Florence, like just Hercules did.
