Tuscany Trotter tour guide network

Tuscany Trotter tour guide network Come and explore Florence with us! My name is Elisabetta Marchi, I’ve been a professional tour guide since 2002.

Working for different travel agents in the past, I developed an exceptional knowledge of this wonderful region and my personal interests include beyond history and art history, w**e and food. My tours are offered primarely in English and Italian but through the years I have been able to create a network of experienced and competent guides that are fluent in Spanish, French, Portoguese, Japanese, Mandarin, Serbian, Croatian, Polish, Russian etc. Our tours are personal and innovative and they will also take you to the discovery of little but important towns like Pistoia, Carrara, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, Cortona and others. For years I have been looking for guides that are passionate and love their job, in Tuscany as the rest of Italy like Rome, Venice, Pompei and I would be happy to recommend them. As professionals we place a priority on personalizing tours for the needs of each client, and strive to understand and meet their wishes and expectations: therefore, we are able to guide individual travelers or families as well as tour groups. Our goal is to provide a unique experience for each request, with local knowledge and an insiders view of the Italy not usually found. We are expert at organizing customized tours combining the different aspects of the local culture, including art, traditions, crafts, food and w**e.

Waiting for my clients to start a tour in but lost in the beautiful frescoes of a chapel at the church of Sant'Ambrogio. The walls were decorated by Cosimo Rosselli between 1484 and 1486. On the ceiling we can admire the Four Church Fathers, while the left wall represents the scene of the faithful gathered in Piazza Sant’Ambrogio for a procession worshiping a relic.
This unique fresco gives us a unique opportunity to sneak around fifteenth-century Florence. Women gather together and they are separated from men. Look at the contemporary dresses and headgears. In the crowd we can also recognize some famous Florentines. On the left the painter himself looks at us boldly. In the group of the three men standing just to the right of the artist we can recognize Giovanni Pico della Mirandola in the middle, Angelo Poliziano on his right and (with greater doubts) Marsilio Ficino on his left. There are probably many more portraits of contemporary Florentines in the scene but we cannot recognize them anymore.

I am almost ashamed to admit I had never visited the Museo de' Medici until yesterday: it was first opened in 2019 but three years ago they moved to a different location which is quite unique. It is inside the former monastery of Santa Maria degli Angeli, a vibrant culture/art center during the Renaissance featuring the Rotunda designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1432.
Certainly one of the museums to recommend if you are in Florence on a monday, when the three big national sites are closed. They are open every single day.
It is a multimedia museum, showcasing memories documents and clothes, still adaptable because the venue can be rented for private events or even w**e tastings.

Mark Rothko exhibit at Palazzo Strozzi was a success with more than 300,000 visitors in a few months.
Scaffoldings are now dominating one of the most beautiful courtyards in the whole of Florence, wooden boxes containing precious artworks are carefully moved and we are all looking forward to the next event.
I often think that Palazzo Strozzi exhibits are always providing a more international touch other than national museums, expanding the cultural choice for occasional visitors, locals and tour guides (like me 🥰)

The Certosa di Trisulti is a magnificent 13th-century Carthusian monastery nestled in the woods of the Ernici mountains in Collepardo (Frosinone), at an altitude of approximately 825 meters. Founded in 1204 by Pope Innocent III, it is renowned for its historic 18th-century pharmacy with decorated walls, the Church of St Bartholomew, and the magnificent Selva d'Ecio forest that surrounds it.
