Italo and Uber Bring Seamless Travel Experience to Florence
Saturday, April 26, 2025 Editorial Staff Travel
Travelers arriving at Florence Santa Maria Novella station can now enjoy a smoother and more convenient journey thanks to the expanded partnership between high-speed rail operator Italo and mobility platform Uber. The service, already active in Rome and Milan, has now been extended to Florence and 11 other major Italian cities.
The goal is to offer a seamless connection between train travel and urban transport, making it easier for passengers to reach their final destination without delays or the need to search for last-minute transportation. Using the Italo or Uber app, passengers can now pre-book their transfer with Uber Reserve, selecting the solution that best fits their schedule and needs.
Florence is one of the key cities in this new rollout, reflecting its importance as a cultural and tourist hub. With Santa Maria Novella serving as a central point for both national and international travelers, the new integration aims to improve mobility and reduce travel stress, particularly during peak tourist seasons.
The service is designed to support what is often referred to as the “last mile” of a journey—the stretch from the train station to the final destination, whether it be a hotel, business meeting, or tourist attraction. For first-time Uber users departing from Florence Santa Maria Novella and other participating stations, a 50% discount is available on their first rides as part of a promotional launch.
In addition to Florence, the expanded network now includes stations in Turin, Naples, Bologna, Padua, Treviso, Verona, Vicenza, Venice (Mestre and Santa Lucia), and Trieste.
To highlight the partnership, two Italo trains have also been fully branded internally with Uber messaging, promoting the integrated service to passengers across Italy.
This move marks another step in Florence’s ongoing evolution toward smarter and more connected urban mobility solutions, blending traditional rail travel with digital convenience.
