🌿 Fresh basil, marble mortars and international smiles in the heart of Genoa!

Today at BioTigullio5Terre we hosted a wonderful Traditional Pesto Making Class with new friends from around the world.

Joining us today:

🇺🇸 Megan and Ben from the United States
🇪🇨 Israel and Jacinto from Ecuador

Using fresh basil, Parmigiano Reggiano, garlic, pine nuts and our Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, we prepared the real Genovese Pesto in a marble mortar, following the authentic Ligurian tradition.

After making the pesto:

🥂 a glass of Ligurian wine
🍝 tasting the freshly made pesto
📜 certificate of participation

A true local experience in the historic center of Genoa, just a few steps from the Christopher Columbus House.

On Saturday, March 28th, 2026, join us for a unique urban food & wine trekking experience in the historic center of Genoa.

A guided walking tour through the city’s most iconic landmarks:
Columbus’ House, Porta Soprana, Piazza Sarzano, Palazzo San Giorgio, Porto Antico, Via del Campo, Spianata Castelletto, Piazza De Ferrari and more.

At the end of the walk, enjoy:

🍷 Darren (Canada) and Jessika (Mexico) joined our Rare Ligurian Wines tasting, discovering unique labels, small productions, and the authentic stories behind our territory.

🍇 Alysa and Connor from Boston (USA) enjoyed our classic experience featuring 5 iconic Ligurian wines, paired with fresh pesto, focaccia, and local specialties.

They joined our Traditional Pesto Masterclass, preparing fresh pesto by hand with mortar and pestle, followed by a Ligurian brunch with fresh trofie pasta and local wine tasting.

From Finland to California, passing through Genoa 💚🍷🌿
Today our historic shop BioTigullio5Terre in Via di Ravecca turned into a meeting point for food and wine lovers from all over the world.
✨ Marika & Aila, two friends from Finland, joined our Rare Ligurian Wine Tasting, discovering truly unique native grapes:
Moscatello di Taggia, Cimixa from Tigullio, Vermentino Nero from Lunigiana, Ormeasco from Western Liguria and Bianchetta Genovese with skin maceration (orange wine).
🌿 At the same time, Linda, Dave & Steven from California – together with Tiziano from Genoa – immersed themselves in our traditional pesto workshop, preparing pesto by hand with mortar and pestle, exactly as Ligurian tradition teaches.
Authentic wines, ancient recipes, real people, real stories.
This is what we love to share, every day.
And February is just getting started… tomorrow two more experiences, Saturday four more! 🚀

Oggi la nostra bottega storica BioTigullio5Terre, in via di Ravecca 51/r, si è trasformata in un vero punto d’incontro internazionale per chi ama il cibo e il vino autentico.
✨ Marika e Aila, due amiche finlandesi, hanno partecipato alla nostra degustazione di vini liguri rari, scoprendo vitigni autoctoni davvero unici:

🌿 In contemporanea, Linda, Dave e Steven dalla California – insieme a Tiziano da Genova – hanno vissuto la masterclass di pesto al mortaio, preparando il pesto a mano, secondo la più autentica tradizione ligure.
Vini rari, ricette antiche, persone vere, storie vere.
È questo lo spirito che ci guida ogni giorno.

Eilen and Lori traveled all the way from Vancouver, Washington, carrying with them a deep connection to Liguria.
Their family roots come from Val di Vara, in the province of La Spezia, and this journey was more than a trip — it was a return.

From France to Genoa, one marble mortar at a time 🇮🇹💚

Today we welcomed Aline and Clémence, traveling from Toulouse and Lille, for a traditional pesto masterclass by hand in the heart of Genoa.

Inside our historic BioTigullio5Terre shop in Via di Ravecca, they learned how to prepare authentic Genoese pesto using a Carrara marble mortar and wooden pestle, following the same slow gestures passed down through generations.

Fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, Parmigiano Reggiano, extra virgin olive oil — and time.
No machines. No rush. Just tradition, stories, and real Ligurian flavors.

At the end of the experience, they received their pesto certificate, but most of all, they took home a true memory of Genoa 💚
