🌋 MOUNT ETNA IS ACTIVE AGAIN — AND THIS TIME, THE SCALE IS SOMETHING ELSE.
Mount Etna never stops surprising us.
But there are moments when surprise turns into something more: awe.
In recent days, Europe's most active volcano has once again captured attention with intense volcanic activity, including explosive activity at the summit craters and lava flows in the Valle del Leone and Valle del Bove.
The current phase is part of a series of eruptive episodes that have continued to show how dynamic Mount Etna can be. On July 30, the INGV recorded new effusive activity in the upper Valle del Leone, while later observations documented lava flows together with strong explosive activity at the summit craters.
And this is what makes Etna so extraordinary.
A photograph can show you the lava.
A video can show you the fire.
But seeing an active volcano in front of you is something completely different.
The scale, the sound, the landscape and the feeling of watching a living volcano are difficult to capture through a screen.
At Sicily Active, Mount Etna is not simply a destination.
It is one of the places we know, follow and experience every day through our excursions.
We continue to follow the volcano and the information released by volcanologists so that visitors can discover Mount Etna with a deeper understanding of this extraordinary landscape.
🌋 Etna always surprises us.
Sometimes with fire.
Sometimes with silence.
And sometimes with a spectacle that is almost impossible to describe.
