Stop. Breathe. Eat.

The narrow streets of Ceglie Messapica are in no hurry. Whitewashed lime walls everywhere you look — houses, alleys, low walls to sit on — all that dazzling white under a Puglian sky.

We sat down on one of those walls with a rosetta in our hands, the way it should be: plenty of soft bread inside, good olive oil-packed tuna, mortadella, sharp provolone in thick shavings, a few desalted capers. Nothing else.

Nothing else was needed.

Sometimes the greatest luxury is a small town the world hasn't quite discovered yet, a sandwich made with care, and nowhere you need to be.

Just wrapped up an incredible cooking class with the talented Sicilian chef Carmelo Chiaramonte, and we're still covered in flour — no regrets whatsoever.

We spent hours learning the art of traditional Sicilian focacce, each telling a story of the island's rich culinary heritage. Chef Carmelo has this rare gift of making you feel both a student and a part of something deeply rooted in culture and tradition. Every technique came with a story, every ingredient with a reason.

Beyond the recipes, it was a masterclass in understanding why Sicilian food is the way it is — the land, the history, the people. And of course, we ate everything at the end. Research purposes, obviously 😜

Mt Etna, Sicily.
Right now, Europe's most active volcano is wearing a stunning blanket of deep snow, transforming into a winter wonderland that feels almost surreal. The magical atmosphere is breathtaking – pristine white peaks stretching toward brilliant blue skies, creating a landscape of pure enchantment.
It's hard to imagine that this same mountain, so serene and snow-covered today, becomes a scene of raw power during eruptions – when rivers of glowing red lava carve through the darkness, painting the night sky in shades of orange and crimson. Fire and ice, existing on the same slopes.

Mother Nature's most beautiful contradiction. 🗻✨

If you are a creative and enthusiastic chap with an adaptive mindset, the ability to work under pressure and a problem solving attitude, you might consider to apply for the following open position at L’Isolabella – Lifestyle experience in Sicily, Italy & Malta, a leading luxury tour operator / DMC in Sicily.
As an experience designer you will create luxury trips and experiences for our very high-end clientele / HNWI from all over the world.
The role entails handling each proposal from start to finish including suppliers, budget, documents, follow-up.
The position is for the next season 2026, with the winter months for training. If you fit well into our small team and we both enjoy working together, it might turn into a full-time one.
Place of work is Gravina di Catania. You can also work remote.

As an Experience Designer, this is what you need to have to apply:

• 2 year experience minimum, preferably at luxury TO/DMC.
A good knowledge of the Tourism or Event industry is considered a strong asset.

• Deep knowledge of the region of Sicily. Other regions as Campania, Apulia and Sardinia are welcome. If Malta is on your list, you might already be in pole position.

• C1 level of English is mandatory. Additional languages are welcome.
Free tip: refrain from writing C1 if you are a B1/2. Just tell the truth.

• Driving license is required.
Driving around scouting, meeting suppliers and is key to fully enjoying the job.

Italian sector contract commensurate to skills is offered.
