Before we set sail, fourteen of us started our two-week adventure with three nights at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro. It gave everyone time to settle in, recover from the flight and explore before heading to Dubrovnik for our Atlas Ocean Voyages cruise.

One highlight was a private guided boat tour of Boka Bay that departed right from our resort’s dock. And while we were enjoying the water, the hotel team was quietly taking care of a travel hiccup.

One of our friends’ bags had been left in Amsterdam. Once it arrived in Dubrovnik, the airport couldn’t arrange a driver to bring it across the border to Montenegro. The concierge team stepped in and arranged for the luggage to be collected and delivered right to our friends’ room within 24 hours, at no charge.

This falls into the category of “you get what you pay for.” Beautiful rooms and views are one thing, but a team that handles a problem while you keep enjoying your trip? That’s the service we’ll remember!

This month, Krista and her mom traveled through Scotland on a trip we had the pleasure of planning for them, with stops in Edinburgh, Inverlochy and Loch Lomond.

It was the perfect mix of city, countryside, history, beautiful scenery and time together.

And there’s a fun full circle moment to this trip. Krista is a part of the Olivette Travel Design team!

We loved planning this one, and we love getting to share a little of their journey through Scotland. 🏴

I am incredibly honored to learn that I’ve been named a finalist for Departure Lounge’s Spirit of Departure Lounge Award, an award voted on by our Preferred Supplier Executives recognizing advisors who best demonstrate the culture of our agency.

What makes this recognition particularly meaningful to me is who it comes from.

In travel, we talk a lot about client relationships—and rightly so. But there is another set of relationships that is every bit as important to the work we do: our relationships with the trusted suppliers, hoteliers, destination partners, cruise lines, tour operators, and industry colleagues who help us take care of those clients.

I invest a tremendous amount of time and energy into building, preserving, and protecting those relationships. I believe in being a good partner: communicating well, respecting people's time and expertise, showing appreciation, and treating our partners with the same care and professionalism we extend to our clients.

Because when something goes wrong halfway around the world, when a client needs a special accommodation, or when we simply want to create an experience that feels extraordinary rather than ordinary, those relationships matter.

They aren't just industry connections. They are an important part of how we serve our clients well.

I’m also honored to be included alongside so many colleagues I respect. One of the things I value most about Departure Lounge is its culture. Those of us who have found our home here know that being successful isn’t the only measure of a great advisor or partner—being kind, collaborative, generous, and simply being a good human matters, too. That culture is one of the reasons I’m so proud to be part of this community.

So, while I would certainly be thrilled to win, being recognized by the supplier partners we work alongside—and being included among this group of colleagues—is already something I’m very proud of.

When a wedding takes you to Lake Como, you make a trip out of it!

We planned a Swiss and Italian adventure around our clients’ Lake Como wedding weekend, starting in Lucerne with Mount Pilatus, Swiss chocolate, the Bernese Oberland, Mount Schilthorn and even a hands-on Swiss watchmaking experience.

From there, it was on to Milan for the city’s highlights, The Last Supper and the Prada Museum before making their way to Lake Como for the welcome party and wedding.

One of the best parts of traveling for a destination wedding? You’re already there! Adding a few extra days and another destination can turn one special weekend into an incredible European vacation.

Some hotels are beautiful. Others have that something you can’t quite capture in a photo.

Grand Hotel Son Net is one of them.

Tucked into the Mallorcan countryside, it feels more like being welcomed into an incredible private home than checking into a hotel. The Lorenzo Castillo interiors are layered and full of personality, the new spa is spectacular, the food and w**e are genuinely excellent, and the entire property has a warmth that is hard to manufacture.

It’s also exactly why we spend so much time seeing hotels firsthand. Because choosing the right hotel isn’t just about finding the prettiest one. It’s knowing the rooms, the atmosphere, the people behind it and, most importantly, whether it’s the right fit for you.

Son Net absolutely earned a spot on our Mallorca list. 🇪🇸

Four Seasons Mallorca might be one of our favorite new additions to the island.

Tucked away from the energy of Palma, it feels secluded but still has plenty going on. A true beach club, adults only and family pools, live music, great restaurants and cocktails, plus a vineyard right on property.

Dinner at Shima was a standout. Asian and Peruvian flavors, an incredible view and the umami cocktail with sesame infused vodka is a must.

They even offer a daily boat into the nearby town, which makes exploring easy.

Modern, social and beautifully done. Four Seasons Mallorca is definitely one to know.
