Probably our favorite (and definitely most unexpected) gift from hosting retreats has been watching the friendships that form between our guests.

Not just travel bonds, but genuine, lasting relationships.

Some of the women in these photos have reunited in THREE different cities since meeting on our photography retreat last year. They’re sharing meals, planning trips, keeping up daily in group texts… and a few are already coming back on future retreats with us!

We knew our guests were incredible, but we never could’ve imagined the community that would grow through our retreats. 🤍

We’ve spent the last few years sharing the quiet, storybook villages of Umbria with you, and if you’ve been following along, you know how much we love village Italy.

But this fall, is heading somewhere different: Italy’s Amalfi Coast, where the landscape shifts from rolling hills to dramatic cliffs and turquoise water.

One of the standout moments of our Italian retreats is an intimate cooking class at , an estate that’s been in the same family since 1877 and is layered with history you can feel the second you arrive.

You’ll start with a wander through the property that includes a stunning villa, private chapel, gardens and vineyards, and ancient Etruscan caves before stepping into the kitchen for a hands-on experience rooted in traditional Umbrian recipes.

Then comes the best part: sitting down together to enjoy everything you’ve made, paired with wines produced right on the estate!

What I take when I travel! 🌎 🧳

You don’t need everything that’s marketed to you! Travel can be complicated- there’s no need to make it more so by buying a bunch of expensive stuff you won’t use. Here’s a (sped up) tutorial of what I usually take in my backpack. If I’m having to carry you, you’d better make my life easier!

I made this video last summer and forgot to post it. I also forgot my airplane pillow for my international flight. My puffer jacket in my shopping bag saved the day (night), it was actually the best I’ve slept on a flight in years. Speaking of overnight flights - I used to stress about sleeping on the plane, which meant that I often landed feeling both stressed AND sleepless. These days, I don’t even try. I watch movies, which feels like a luxury as I usually don’t have time for that in my regular life. I almost always end up falling asleep while I’m watching, and if not, well, at least I’ve seen a few movies! 😂
