After 22 years in our Virginia home, the weight of accumulation is real. Meanwhile, in Lucca, our home tells a different story—one of intentional simplicity. Furnished with antiques chosen to reflect the character of the space, it’s free from the decades of accumulation we’ve found ourselves sorting through in Virginia.

In my latest blog post, I reflect on the process of holding on, letting go, and the balance between nostalgia and practicality. Whether it’s inherited heirlooms, childhood keepsakes, or just the things we collect over time, how do we decide what stays and what fades into history?

We’ve learned that it’s the traditions that matter most—like decorating the tree, baking homemade pizzelle, and having the whole family together. But we’re still dreaming of a Christmas in Lucca.

What are your favorite holiday traditions, whether in Italy or elsewhere? I'd love to hear how you make the season special! 🎁✨

First and foremost, the crew made our experience especially enjoyable and worthwhile. The four day shoot was somewhat exhausting, but they were always encouraging, upbeat and energized which helped tremendously. Filming House Hunters International was completely out of our comfort zone and the crew managed to make it so much fun.
