This venue is just spectacular, the acoustics are amazing and the show is mostly an experience…

Today I took my lovely Irish group to enjoy the undeniable beauty of Siena, my favorite Tuscan city (besides Lucca, of course 😉), where history, art, traditions, rivalry and sense of community intertwine.

Vibrant yellow flags are currently making a fine show along the winding and picturesque streets of the "contrada dell'Aquila" (historical district of the Eagle), reminding locals and tourists of the latest victory of the Palio, the local iconic crazy horse race.

As every July 12th, today we celebrate Paolino, our patron saint from the Turkish town of Antiochia.
According to tradition, he was the first bishop of Lucca who was presumably sent here by St. Peter, in order to evangelize the local population.
The town center is almost ready to host the traditional “Palio della balestra” (a fascinating crossbows shooting competition) and St. Paolino's church, a remarkable example of Renaissance architecture, shelters beautiful works of art:

Orgogliosa di aver potuto raccontare ai miei turisti che in centro si stava girando un film con il grande Dustin Hoffman e felice di averlo incrociato qualche volta durante queste settimane, l'ultima giusto ieri sera per le riprese finali in Piazza San Frediano. 🥰
Adesso non resta che attendere il momento di guardarlo al cinema! 🤩

Fino al 24 Giugno il Teatro del Giglio ospita “Com’è bello far la moda…”, una fantastica esposizione di ben 30 costumi di scena della “Raffa nazionale”, la mitica Raffaella Carrà! 🤩🤩🤩
