And about 47 rounds of “Do I really need this?” A trip like this—takes a little more preparation than simply throwing a few things in a suitcase. But the planning is done, the bag is packed, and I am SO ready to experience Tanzania! 🦒🐘🦁

Quick pit stop in Florence for an affogato and a little gelato… because balance. ☕🍨😋

Fun fact: Affogato literally means “drowned” — and honestly, same… just drowning my gelato in espresso and calling it self-care.

Wandering through Lucca today felt like stepping into a quieter, gentler corner of Tuscany. 🌿

I spent the morning walking along the Renaissance walls, taking in the views over the terracotta rooftops, then wandered through narrow streets filled with cafés, bicycles, and that gorgeous golden Tuscan light. It’s a city that invites you to slow down—sip a coffee, linger in a piazza, and just enjoy being present.

Lucca may be small, but it has a way of staying with you.

🇮🇹 First 24 Hours in Italy ✨
Touched down in Rome yesterday and hit the ground running. A smooth transfer took me straight to the train station, where I boarded my ride to Florence. After checking into my hotel, I spent the afternoon wandering the city—just taking it all in.

This morning started with a lovely tour, followed by lunch along the river (the perfect reset). Now I’m back on the move, boarding a train to Montecatini for the next part of the journey.

Travel days can be full, but they’re always worth it. Grateful to be here and excited for what’s ahead. travel

This last week I cruised on the Garonne and Dordogne rivers with one of my favorite river cruise partners. people think river cruising is at a slow pace. However this week I choose to join the active tours and biked through vineyards, rode from one city to the next while the ship sailed, start my days onboard with morning yoga, worked out in the ship fitness room, and biked through Bordeaux all while enjoying w**e tastings, visited chateaus, saw UNESCO sites, learned some of the history, ate great food and made new memories. Lovely tour this morning at Château Sigalas Rabaud in Sauternes. This family owned vineyard is one of a kind. While other chateaus in this area have sold this vineyard has stayed true to its roots. At 17 hectors they produce around 5 tons of grapes each year. Each grape (not bushel) is watch carefully through the unique Botrytis Cinerea “noble rot” process and hand picked at the perfect time. Different than a port this sweet w**e is paired well with strong cheeses like Rockford and Comte and is considered more of an aperitif instead of a dessert w**e. Thank you for allowing us to visit and taste your w**es.

Before heading into the city, I spent three wonderful days exploring Disneyland Paris — a fun mix of Disney nostalgia and French flair. 🇫🇷🏰

From ordering a glass of sparkling w**e served in a collectible Disneyland Paris flute 🥂 to riding Phantom Manor, enjoying the festive Halloween displays, and watching drones, lasers, and fireworks light up Sleeping Beauty Castle — all from my table at La Forêt Secrète — it was a memorable way to begin the trip.

Disneyland Paris adds its own European charm to the magic we all know and love, making it a delightful prelude to time in the City of Light.
