Did you know Lucca’s Renaissance walls once echoed with the roar of race cars?

In the early 1900s, the historic city hosted car races right on top of the walls, imagine vintage racers speeding past what’s now your favorite bike path!

🏎️ The very first Coppa Città di Lucca (then called Coppa Edda Ciano) took place on September 29, 1935...and this year, the race celebrates its 90th anniversary and 60th edition!

🗓️ Mark your calendars:
The 2025 Coppa Città di Lucca will return August 3–4, with special night stages on Saturday.

Organized by the Automobile Club Lucca and Lucca Corse, this rally celebrates local tradition, sport, and the unique connection between history and horsepower.

Today, those same walls offer peaceful walks, morning jogs, and unforgettable views...a perfect blend of past and present.

Property Tax Reminder for Homeowners in Lucca! 🏡

A quick reminder for homeowners:
📅 IMU (Imposta Municipale Unica) property tax is due twice a year – in June & December!

What You Need to Know About IMU:
✅ IMU is a property ownership tax, paid by the owner (not like UK council tax).
✅ If the property is your main residence, you are exempt, unless it is classified as a luxury residence.
✅ The rate is based on your property’s cadastral value, and the exact percentage is set by the local municipality.

💡 New in 2025: The Municipality of Lucca has introduced a process for owners to pay their IMU personally via bank transfer. More details on this will be available closer to June 2025.

How Lucca Connections Helps:

I collect and organize the necessary paperwork for submission to the public accountant, who calculates and prepares the property taxes for my clients. The property tax payment slips are emailed to the owners and payment is organized, ensuring that property taxes are paid on time.

For more involved tax situations, such as multiple property ownership or establishing business tax IDs, I connect clients with trusted, English-speaking tax professionals who specialize in Italian taxation.
