Last night in Matera—what an amazing place! It’s over 9000 years old! I still can’t get over this cave hotel room. This truly has been such a unique experience. Today we learned how to make bread with an awesome tasting of bread, focaccia, wine, and pastries. In the afternoon we did a tuk tuk tour to view all parts of this stunning town. Tomorrow we leave early for Caserta.

Yesterday we did a walking tour of Lecce—I love that town! We got to try cafe Leccese, which is a famous Italian coffee, and a delicious pasticciotto. Then we headed to Matera to check in, rest, and have dinner. Can’t wait to explore today! Fun fact: this is the city where Passion of the Christ was filmed (you can see the cross in one of my pics).

I’ll post more tomorrow. But this is my favorite part of today! Spending the next 2 nights in a hotel built in the side of a cave!

Yesterday we visited the beautiful town of Alberobello with the trulli houses. They are incredible and there are so many interesting stories tied to them. I did a little souvenir shopping, and then we even had lunch in a trulli. I don’t want to give too much away because you just must come visit and learn all about the area first hand! After lunch we made our way to Lecce and got settled. This has been one of my favorite hotels so far. The views are amazing and the town at night is just beautiful!

Today was an early day, but we got to visit Castel del Monte, a beautiful non-defensive castle used just by the emperor, empress, and nobles. No kitchen, but 4 fireplaces to boil water to create steam upstairs like a sauna. Then we had a nice lunch in Trani and made our way to Bari. I love this little seaside town! I got to see the women making orecchiette out of their homes, try fried polenta, and see the famous Basilica San Nicola. We had another AMAZING dinner and then checked out the rooftop restaurant where we will have breakfast tomorrow. After breakfast we head to Alberobello to see the famous trulli homes, then make our way to Lecce.

Today was such a fun day of a cooking class at a winery; meeting such a cool family who left the US in 2022 and now staying 1-3 months in France, Italy, and Spain; delicious wine, the best artichoke of my life, a walking tour with so much history, and a nice dinner. Oh and thank goodness I wasn’t asleep when the fireworks went off! (I think there was a wedding here today—what a gorgeous site for a wedding!)

First full day of our tour and it did NOT disappoint! Got to see the Adriatic Sea. Staying in a castle for the next 2 nights. I have a huge corner room with the biggest balcony where part of it is the turret! Had happy hour with a new friend on her balcony. Then an amazing dinner, drinks, dessert. And tomorrow we get to go to a winery, take a cooking class, and then have a walking tour before another amazing dinner. I truly feel so blessed to be on this trip. I can’t wait to help my clients experience Italy in a whole new way! Oh, we also got to tour and taste the most famous confectionery since 1783: Confetti Pelino!

On Tuesday I leave for 10 days in Italy! I’m so excited to experience so many new places. We even get to sleep in a castle! Stay tuned for tons of pics! Have you visited any of these towns?

Who has been to Jamaica?! In about 3 weeks my husband and I are going for the first time and I’d love to hear your favorite things to do. We don’t have a lot of time there so hoping for fun things to do near Montego Bay.
