KEEP SCROLLING. This might change how you see this business...
Travel and tourism is a business that does not simply disappear, even during the most difficult times.
During the pandemic, while many industries slowed down or stopped, the travel industry continued to operate because people still needed to move across borders. We were helping transport OFWs returning home from different parts of the world, assisting essential travel, and sadly, arranging travel for those who did not survive the pandemic so they could be reunited with their families.
Despite the global crisis, the travel industry continued to generate business. In fact, for many of us in the field, it created opportunities that allowed us to keep working and serving people during one of the most challenging periods in modern history.
Now we see another situation unfolding with the conflict in parts of the Middle East. While some airports in affected regions are temporarily closed, the rest of the world continues to move. Airlines are rerouting flights, and people are still traveling—business professionals, OFWs, balikbayans, families, and tourists.
Travel does not stop. It adapts.
For those who doubt the sustainability of the travel and tourism business, it may be time to rethink that perspective. This industry continues to operate in different circumstances because people will always need to travel—for work, for family, for opportunities, and for life itself.
This is a business that can grow with you for the long term.
Speaking from my own experience, I have been in this business for almost four years, and it has never disappointed me. It has provided not only income but also the opportunity to serve people and help them reach the places that matter most in their lives.
