Castelmola
Taormina
Taormina, Castelmola and Savoca are three beautiful villages in eastern Sicily, located in the province of Messina. Each has its own uniqueness and offers a truly suggestive visit experience.
Taormina
Taormina is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sicily, renowned for its beauty and historical heritage. The heart of the city is the Greek Theatre, an ancient theatre from the 3rd century BC from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Etna and the bay of Naxos. Taormina is also famous for Corso Umberto, the main street full of boutiques, cafes and restaurants, and for its public gardens such as the Parco Duca di Cesarò. The town is a perfect mix of culture, nature and luxury, with crystal-clear beaches and ancient monuments.
Castelmola
Castelmola is a small village that sits on a hill above Taormina. It is famous for its panoramic views that stretch from Mount Etna to the coast. The atmosphere here is quiet and authentic, with its narrow cobbled streets and the central square dominated by the remains of the medieval castle. One of Castelmola's most curious traditions is its almond wine, served in many local bars, including the famous Bar Turrisi, also known for its eccentric decor.
Savoca
Savoca is perhaps less well-known, but it is a real gem, made famous by the film "The Godfather" by Francis Ford Coppola, who shot some of the most iconic scenes there. Walking around the village is like taking a dip into the past: the Church of San Nicolò, with its sea views, is a key place for film fans. In addition to this, Savoca is fascinating for its historic buildings and the mysterious Crypt of the Capuchins, where mummies of local nobles are preserved. The village is immersed in an atmosphere of quiet and authenticity.
Visiting these three places offers an immersion in the culture and beauty of Sicily, among breathtaking landscapes, ancient history and authentic traditions.
