Nardò and the Salento.... beauty and endless places to explore. Some of our favorite highlights are the magical Punta Palascia lighthouse in Otranto, the stunning bauxite caves nearby, and the Basilica Santa Maria De Finibus Terrae in Santa Maria di Leuca, at the very tip of southern Puglia. Closer to Nardò, we love wandering the lively old town of Gallipoli, which sits right on the water. Nardò itself boasts charming seaside villages like Santa Caterina ans Santa Maria al Bagno, the wild scenery of Porto Selvaggio Natural Park, and endless stretches of picturesque olive groves. Piazza Salandra, often called the "salotto del Salento," is the heart of town, while the majestic Duomo sometimes seems to glow in the sunset light.
