⚜️ Easter celebrations mark the start of the stagione for the island: a season of renewal, celebration and togetherness. Streets come alive with processions, kitchens overflow with sweets and savory feasts, and the rhythm of daily life shifts to the busy energy of spring.

⚜️ Each town in Sicily carries its own story, its own traditions, and to join these Easter celebrations is to step into a living community. Walking through Ortigia on Good Friday, the air is heavy with incense, and the ancient stones echo with the quiet footsteps of hooded confraternities. In Modica, two separate processions—one bearing the Risen Christ, the other a mourning Madonna—meet at noon in a moment known as the vasata, a symbolic kiss and embrace that marks the joy of the Resurrection. Meanwhile, in Trapani, the famous “Misteri” theatrical procession unfolds over nearly an entire day, as enormous, handcrafted statues are carried through the streets by devoted locals.

Vines blush red, the olives gleam,
Sea still warm, a lingering dream.
Crowds have gone, yet life still hums,
Markets glow with autumn’s plums.
In mellow sun and skies so wide—
Sicily breathes, serene with pride.

⚜️ From Our Garden to the First Drop of Gold

This season, we pressed the first oil from our own trees —
each olive kissed by Sicilian sun and cooled by evening winds.

The harvest was small, but its joy was immense:
a celebration of patience, earth, and hands that learn by touch.

From ancient roots, we are growing a new story —
of care, of family, of land reborn.
The scent of green fruit, the shimmer of gold —
our first olive oil, born from the garden that began it all.

And now, we dream further:
to plant more trees,
to tend them as guardians of time,
and to bottle not only oil,
but the spirit of this place —
our home, our Sicily, our heart …

⚜️ This is the Sicilian villa where we welcome our guests—
a sun-drenched retreat in the south-east of the island,
where time slows and the air itself seems always perfumed with jasmine.

We are now in our third season of discovering the island,
sharing the soul of Sicily with kindred spirits like you.

When we closed the restaurant more than two years ago,
we invited you to dream with us—
to imagine a future where we could offer
not just meals, but experiences;
not just service, but connection;
a journey into the very heart of the island.

Back then, we showed you images of villas
we thought could carry this dream—
places of stone and light,
where Sicilian architecture meets quiet luxury.
We searched, we traveled, we knocked on ancient doors.
And then, serendipity stepped in.

In the Baroque town of Scicli,
we found ourselves returning to the same masseria—
a restored Sicilian estate of modern comforts and timeless charm.
It was only later, as Polina sifted through old photos,
that we realized:
this was the very villa we had unknowingly shown you
at our first presentation.
The dream had been waiting for us all along.

Just days ago, as Chef Alessandro celebrated his 40th birthday
beside the shimmering pool of that same villa,
we felt it again—
this magical alignment of vision and reality,
of past hopes and present joy.

We are deeply grateful to every guest
who has walked this path with us so far,
and to those already planning to return in 2026.
This is more than a tour.
It is a gathering of stories,
a celebration of Sicily,
and an invitation to step into a dream
that we now know has the power to come true.

⚜️ Explanation: Can a lava flow extend into the sky? No, but light from the lava flow can. One effect is something quite unusual — a volcanic light pillar. More typically, light pillars are caused by sunlight and so appear as a bright column that extends upward above a rising or setting Sun. Alternatively, other light pillars — some quite colorful — have been recorded above street and house lights. This light pillar, though, was illuminated by the red light emitted by the glowing magma of an erupting volcano. The volcano is Italy’s Mount Etna, and the featured image was captured with a single shot during an early morning in mid-February. Freezing temperatures above the volcano’s lava flow created ice-crystals either in the air above the volcano or in condensed water v***r expelled by Mount Etna. These ice crystals — mostly flat toward the ground but fluttering — then reflected away light from the volcano’s caldera.
