Husband and wife, Giovanni and Rachel have lived all over the world but Giovanni always wanted to return to his hometown in Puglia and Rachel, from Dublin, Ireland was happy to set up home in Salento. Upon returning to Salento, Rachel and Giovanni were asked to interpret a tour of an extra virgin olive oil press to a group of English tourists. They enjoyed explaining the processes and secrets of e
xtra virgin olive oil but wanted to do it in their own way; informative but at the same time fun and entertaining and that's what they do. Every Wednesday, they offer a FREE guided tour in English of a local family-run extra virgin olive oil press. They bring people around the factory and explain each stage in detail. At the end of the factory tour, they indulge the participants in an informative and delicious tasting of several various extra virgin olive oils as well as wine tasting. The tour is suitable for people of all ages and lasts approx 1.5hrs. Booking in advance is essential as there is a max number of 30 participants and the tour may be cancelled if the min quota of 15 people is not met. This is a great activity and a must-not miss part of any holiday in Salento.
