So, Casa Vanilla Sky is for sale. After nearly 5 years it feels like the right time to move onto a new project.
We've had a great time developing the villa to it's full potential. Thanks to all who have contributed to its development.

So we're getting there! We've been doing the hard landscaping and now it's time to start adding the finishing touches. We can't wait to see if our olive trees start to grow now they've settled in 🤞. I think this will be a special, quiet space to relax.

We've been working hard since closing at the end of the 2021 season. We're proud to unveil our new pergola, providing more shade and extending the living and dining spaces. We are also developing a courtyard garden area with beautiful old olive trees. We hope it will be a tranquil space away from the villa. More photos to follow!

Exploring the local area with friends. So lucky to have fantastic walking trails on our doorstep at the Voltigno Trail Centre. We did Voltigno to Rifugo Ricotta with views to Campo Imperatore. We saw many wild flowers including the renowned Crocus which produces saffron, and walked amongst huge Beech trees that are up to 300 years old! The wildlife is amazing too - we saw kites, cattle roaming freely and came across a group of wild horses, an amazing day.
You'll see the photo of the wooden plaque with mountain names and heights. Can you match them to my photos?

Spent a fantastic few hours at Il Bosso near Capestrano with friends and family. The cleanest river in Italy - it was an amazing experience. Paddled in the water which remains at a constant 12 degrees due to many underground springs. We were told it was good for the circulation - brrrggh.

Photos from my trabocchi trip yesterday.

A fantastic day yesterday, spent exploring the trabochi coast with friends. A day trip that is a must in my opinion if staying at Casa Vanilla Sky. Take the coastal road (SS16 adriatica), or motorway if you wish but I like the views. Drive through San Vito Chietino where you'll see the first of the trabocchi, stop for a gelato? (Gelatoria Copa De Dora).
Continue along the coast and look for the brown signs for Punta Aderci, listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy: http://www.italia.it/en/travel-ideas/the-sea/italys-15-most-scenic-beaches.html?fbclid=IwAR3LwHWGiQUfgJD4gDbxiGJhmZmTPY_aEc2FOGPotYfk2pOyRHVwGpiSJF4
There is a good amount of free parking and a short walk down to the pebble beach. Swim in the clear blue waters next to a trabocchi.
Onwards lastly to Vasto, a lovely town with old world charm and a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit!
