Probably the best villa we have stayed at - beautifully equipped and furnished. Best was the layout of the accommodation - it was so well planned, particularly the kitchen, dining and pool area. It is amazing how much this careful thought adds to the holiday experience. Plenty room for the 9 of us, lots of nooks to get away from each other for some peace and quiet! Location is great for exploring - we visited Cortona and Montepulciano as we have already seen much of Umbria already. The villa is off the beaten track - which suited us but a less confident driver might find the last few km rather stressful. It also means that we weren't keen to eat out in the evenings - however the villa more than made up for that. We'll definitely be back.

On Good Friday at 9pm there will be a holy procession in Tuoro sul Trasimeno including lighting of a huge fire. It starts and ends at the Parco della Croce.

Castiglione del Lago spring festival, celebrating tulips, takes place this year from the 6th to 9th of April. Entrance to the festa which takes place in the historic centre of the town, is free. Martin runs wine tastings events at the Girasoli di Sant'Andrea, 20 minutes down the valley from Villa Forconi. On Monday nights there is a tour of the cantina and vineyards followed by a wine tasting with 3 course dinner.
